Oct 13th 2008 12:09PM Tricks of the Trade being reduced to a 20s cooldown is pretty nice for PvE. Throw it on another rogue when he has Adrenaline Rush/BF/Bloodlust and he'll return the favor. It's a 6 second boost of 15% for anyone in your raid, every 20 seconds.
I find that waiting 5 minutes for a cooldown is uneffective except for in the longest of PvP fights, and that while it rocks for world PvP, it is still 5 minutes of waiting on our reduced cooldowns. Remember, nearly all of our cooldowns are dropped from 5 minutes to 3 minutes!
Oct 13th 2008 12:06PM They are losing the interrupt - but only at 80. I tailored this article for the level 70 player who will still have interrupts, I will cover level 80 equivs when the time is right. :)
Oct 8th 2008 4:08PM They removed the 2 second cooldowns of openers while under Shadow Dance, so you can ambush 3 times in a row, etc, so the GCD is the only thing affecting you.

It doesn't remove hamstring or any other snares, basically making it a cheap damage buff when fighting rogues or warriors, and a pretty expensive one when you're not bleeding. Find Weakness is the same amount of damage buff at max rank, and all you have to do is perform a finisher to gain the effect."
Actually, Find Weakness was made passive and nerfed to 6% all abilities. The ability to remove DoTs and use Glyph'd Vanish does improve mobility, adding a weak Sprint to your lineup can help. As I mentioned in the article, Prep is a very great talent for Mutilate and it will probably cause some rogues to go one way and some to go the other. Also, 30 energy every 30 seconds is not very expensive, imo.

True, but again, in a double DPS fight, you only need 6 seconds before opening on your target, and you spend only 30 points of "real" energy to keep it up for 60 seconds. 60 seconds is a long time in a double DPS fight, and I think 30 energy cost over a full minute is not too shabby.

With the ShS nerf (no use while rooted), and improved Sprint being viable for a Mut/Combat build, Mutilate's mobility is definitely moving forwards (though not at ShS's level yet).
Oct 8th 2008 2:36PM I haven't tried a Backstab build, for the same reason I never played Mutilate for more than a week before PTR/Beta - because latency + positioning requirements = bad. The removal of positioning requirements and the deep synergy with Mutilate and the Assassination tree is why Mutilate is coming out as a powerful potential build. Backstab has very little synergy with other talents and it's positioning requirement and dependence on critical strikes make it lackluster in my eyes. Until I can test it, I can't say for sure.

The talent is designed for PvP, the same way a raider wouldn't pick up improved Kidney Shot.
Oct 8th 2008 2:32PM It does proc Sword Spec, but it DOES NOT include your regular attacks while this is happening. This means: don't use SnD, don't use it when Bloodlust is up, etc.

Means 30% more speed while under the Vanish effect... so getting those bleeds off you make your Vanish go further. :)
