Dec 28th 2008 2:35AM To the negative nancies,
Please, do a better job yourself and send in a picture for us to see. I have a feeling that some of you would resemble Man Faye more than the Lich King :)
To the guy who most likely has more fun than the above detractors,
Great photo! Good luck with your career :)
Sep 12th 2008 4:07AM A couple people asked how big the DL was...
The first was around 1.15GB, the first patch around the same, the 2nd patch was around 141 MB...on my 6th patch now, waiting for it to finish installing (which is slower than the actual DL).
My only complaint is after the first few, you have to keep logging in to bring up the patch DL, so I've been going back and forth to my computer for hours. Some sort of file consolidation would be great.
Aug 25th 2008 6:24PM I'm pretty sure the copyright restrictions do not apply to the shirt, which is reconstructed from an official product- as opposed to being screenprinted (etc) with a Blizz design.
The Murky does get those restrictions though. Unless Etsy has fundamentally changed in the year since I last used their fantastic site, they do not condone copyright violations at all.
Wow Insider seems to like to pick and choose which violations they condone/promote and which they rail against (with at least 1, the comic, being a non-issue of parody).
Aug 18th 2008 4:10PM Dear WoWInsider,
Why the sudden jump on potential copright infringement?
Four posts in July of this year are promoting a copyright infringer - Manaprincess.com.
Please explain the difference between MP's direct profiting from Blizzard artwork and item names and a French carnival ride using an Orc image.
Some clarification as to when we accept copyright laws and when we over look them on WI would be appreciated.
Aug 17th 2008 6:30PM "In its most general sense, a fair use is any copying of copyrighted material done for a limited and "transformative" purpose such as to comment upon, criticize or parody a copyrighted work. Such uses can be done without permission from the copyright owner"
"Unlike other forms of fair use, a fairly extensive use of the original work is permitted in a parody in order to "conjure up" the original."
Without seeing the whole comic (and being able to understand possibly nuanced French), no one can say definitively how to categorize it.
I find it interesting that this is given as an example of shameless copyright infringment. However the multiple post promotion of Manaprincess.com, which sells multiple items ripped directly (sans Blizz permission)from WoW, is acceptable and embraced?
Jul 11th 2008 12:52PM Did she buy advertising space?
Jul 7th 2008 8:56PM Grab a pack of cell phone accessory lanyards, a few packs of sculpy/fimo at your local craft store and voila - make one for yourself and friends for less than $15. This just strikes me as a DIY project.
The profiting off of copyrighted material is not cool. As a so called artist, I wonder if she would be upset if someone were to profit off of her original designs?
Jun 29th 2008 9:41PM " it leaves it up to the player to judge whether they're ready for Heroics or not"
The sad fact is, even at honored rep people can't judge this well. You can usually make your way through with an undergeared dps, but an undergeared tank or healer is just painful and no one benefits when you can't even make it to the first boss.
I still don't understand the thinking - make heroics accessable for the people who like to solo? Well, why are they running heroics at all then? Revered rep keys didn't take much effort at all to get and honored often doesn't require any normal instances before hand. Will gear checks have to be the norm for 5 mans with this? The thought of an undergeared group who's never run the normal instance is kinda scary >_>
(To those who think keys are a waste of time, I invite you to run H Shattered Halls with my resto shammie alt as soon as she dings 70 - she's had the key since lvl 61.)
Jun 7th 2008 9:22PM You can actually wall jump out of there, just position yourself where two of the hedges meet. I discovered this while exploring right after SWP came out and if I can walljump out, anyone can.
After you free yourself, go over to the two Draenei NPCS, follow them around clicking on them and listen to what they say ;)
Mar 16th 2008 1:16PM Remove /shift and it should work. Shift is a modifier, so you would use it like :
/cast [modifier:shift] Drain Soul(Rank 1)
Thus, you could hold down your shift key while using your macro to drain soul. The full macro would look like:
/castsequence reset=combat/target Siphon Life, Curse of Agony, Corruption, Life Tap, Drain Life
/cast [modifier:shift] Drain Soul(Rank 1)
