Sep 3rd 2008 9:36AM I've abandoned my old main and given away his gold to ex-raiding buddies, and am concentrating on rerolling on a PvP server. I'm 5-boxing with RAF but all my toons are under level 40 at the moment. Still, I have about 1k gold from playing the AH and am amassing lots of herbs/ore/leather with a view to levelling profs.
The real challenge is going to be buying them all epic flyers... in fact just buying them skills is starting to drain my reserves!
Sep 3rd 2008 8:48AM I'm no fan of gold sellers, but if I were sitting on 130k gold I'd be tempted to liquidate some into beer tokens. If the gold spammer prices are anything to go by that's at least £1,300/$2000.
Sep 1st 2008 9:59AM Seriously. For every RAF that hits 60, you get 29 levels up to 60 to grant, so if you're smart you'll level each "receiving" toon to 31.99 before you get gifted.
Aug 29th 2008 8:40AM I only started a few months ago, and it was fine then even before the lvl30 mounts and R-A-F changes. i've no doubt WotLK will attract some new blood.
Aug 29th 2008 8:34AM Currently I'm 5-boxing, so I skip all collection quests. Triple XP from RAF makes doing so just fine, no grinding necessary!
Aug 28th 2008 5:29AM I use be.imba.hu to judge potential PuG gear, and add decent tanks and healers (and exceptional DPS) to my friendslist, which I sort into roles with the Holofriends addon. I also use LFM more often than LFG.
If your gear isn't great, you might well be better off starting the group itself, as then you can pick out decently geared PuG-mates rather than be discarded by those doing the same ;)
Aug 27th 2008 8:38AM I have 5 at the moment, but will be whittling that back down to 2 and then 1 once I've taken advantage of recruit-a-friend to level my toons.
At the moment I've only paid for the vanilla game for most of them and am using free trial + initial month. A second month for each is a no-brainer as it gets added to my main account also, and I may keep one for a further month to get myself one Zhevra and a little more use out of it.
Aug 27th 2008 5:31AM As a new multiboxer I'd rather PuG than run dungeons myself... apparently it's doable by 5xSham by brute force (or 5xMage by brute force and multiple sheep), but Pal/Pri/Sha/Mag/Hun is just too tricky to co-ordinate!
Aug 27th 2008 5:26AM The program is keyclone, you can find it and much more information at http://dual-boxing.com/
I started levelling a 5-man team (on a new server, but I played the AH first for some funds) recently with R-A-F: Prot Pally, Holy Priest, Ele Sham, Frost Mage and MM Hunter. They're level 31 at the mo, and just picked up their first mounts :)
It's been fun and tricky and occasionally annoying so far, my hardware isn't quite up to running five instances 94 on PC, one on laptop) but it copes most of the time and I'm looking forward to granting 116 free levels to my remaining alts! Reckon I'll ease back to 4-boxing when I've got them to 60 and try and get as many toons to 70 as possible before WotLK hits.
