Jan 18th 2008 2:50PM This is a little closer to people arguing over the print on the wrapper then the content of the burger. Or maybe changing a sign on the door when the guy behind the register said it would stay there for a while.
Jan 18th 2008 2:49PM I think you're misunderstanding; I'm saying the overinflated sense of entitlement is because of not realizing how GOOD we have it. No, I don't play the other games exactly because of the lack of involvement, involvement which Blizzard does a WONDERFUL job of. Using this 'debacle' to say that blizzard DOESN'T listen to their customers is complete hogwash.
Getting riled up over such minute details that don't match your exact view of how every element of this game should play out is evidence of losing track of how much of this game IS changed to match what the customer is after. As long as blizzard continues to improve the game as a whole, complaining over the loss of a new wolf skin just seems childish.
Jan 18th 2008 12:43PM Another example of the inflated sense of entitlement a lot of players have in this game. If the devs have a preliminary decision, then change their mind, so be it. It's their game. Other games I've played, the situation would have played out as follows: Players see ghost wolf is tamable, tame it. No one says anything about it, then devs decide it's bad, change it, take away the pets, and nothing is announced at all, to anyone about anything, other than maybe a vague patch note item.
No, they weren't out of line. No, they aren't screwing players over. No, it's not 'unacceptable' that they 'gave their word'. No, absolutely not. This is the first game I've seen with such direct and SWIFT interaction with the community, spanning several genres. Blizzard doesn't need to get their act together, the players need to go outside and do something else to get some perspective.
Apr 24th 2007 5:09PM the new AI is NOT on the current realms, as they do go to shackled targets about half the time. It IS on the PTR, and it seems to work well. So try it on the test realm and drop a bug report if it acts funny, I say!
Apr 11th 2007 3:30PM Psst! Skettis is already in the game, its an enormous flight-only zone with no quests but a couple of bosses and TONS of high level (and quite dangerous) mobs. I would guess that all that's gonna happen there is the addition of a small camp of freindly lower city guys with quests. Sounds to me that the other two are going to be floating island type areas somewhere above current content that are set up similarly. I personally doubt that there are going to be new instances associated with them, but its a posibility.
There's also several 5-man bosses and solo/elite zones in flight only areas of Blade's Edge, and one in Nagrand also. I imagine these will be quest targets either from the aformentioned new zones or for the netherdrake or druid epic quests.
Or maybe not. I just like speculating!
Apr 5th 2007 9:17AM Oops, forgot to mention, the epic 310% PvE mount that was mentioned by blue was said to be available but not discovered yet. My guess is it's a phoenix mount that drops off of Kael, but thats just conjecture.
Apr 5th 2007 9:13AM Flightpaths AREN'T faster. I've raced folks on flightpaths with my epic, and either win or get there simultaneously, and thats on a single point to point. If you're going from netherstorm to shadowmoon valley, I can get there in 2 minutes where it takes you nearly 15. And as has been mentioned before, with a little practice, an epic flyer makes farming herbs or ore INSANELY efficient, as well searching for fishing nodes (my own personal poison). It has DRAMATICALLY improved my gameplay and fun since I got this thing. Well worth the cash.
Jan 9th 2007 8:51AM If anyone reading this gets on shortly after 11:00 PST, please check a few things for us working folk and post them here if you have a moment:
Which PVP items were reduced in cost and by how much?
Epic Mount Training cost?
What's the poral event all about?
Any other glaring changes not mentioned in the patch notes?
Thanks in advance to anyone who bothers ^^
Jan 7th 2007 8:07PM All characters would stay together based on your choice. the only time you would have chars on different servers is if you never picked a destination during the designated time (I.E. didn't log on, and wasn't in a guild or arena team)
Jan 7th 2007 4:31AM Alliance or Horde? on our battlegroup AV ranges from 50 minutes during the week to 2 hours on a non-AV bonus weekend, alliance side. hordeside it's never over a minute or so. even on bonus weekends our queues for WSG or AB don't get below 15 mins or so. Waiting sucks, but so it goes when you have 3x as many alliance as horde across the group.
