Oct 10th 2008 8:30PM "I was curious as to what Beta build had enough features -- and stability -- to pass muster and make it to the Golden master"
They sort of *have* to get the master disc done by now, else they won't have enough time to get the discs printed, boxed and distributed in time for the release.
Oct 10th 2008 8:17PM Posting, too late in the evening to make it more witty, sorry...
Jul 14th 2008 12:04PM You do realize, that according to the mail, he took it from "the guild recipe tab". I would hardly blame the person who took it if it was in a place where it looked like it belonged.
Maybe he should have thought twice if it was the only purple, or something like that, but we have no info about that.
Jul 14th 2008 10:07AM I don't know if they have announced it, but they have certainly merged them in alpha according to what I've heard.
So yes, Heroic Presence and Inspiring Presence will probably have the same effect (and be merged into one ability).
Jul 14th 2008 9:05AM That wont solve anything, if you don't get anything for participating in a battleground when your side looses 90% of the time, then people will stop going there, which will increase the timers for the winning side.
It was (maybe still is) bad enough on some battlegroups, the queue could take hours, and that was when you still got a single token for loosing. If you can't even get a single token for loosing, then it would be much worse, you could have queues that took days before you got to do a match.
Thats the main reason even the loosing side gets a token, players will play if its fun and/or if its rewarding, if its neither they won't bother with it. Mobs don't get a choice, so in PvE the loosing side can get nothing and people will still be able to raid.
Jul 13th 2008 10:02AM Ergonomically speaking, you should have a light on in your room while playing WoW anyways, the contrast between a (to some extent) bright screen and the dark desk/room will cause eye strain.
What I'm wondering over with the authenticators though is, how do you get control over your account again if your authenticator breaks/runs out of battery/is lost.
Jul 11th 2008 8:19PM I read the article thinking Blizzard had made some statement that they might be discontinuing it...
This is a bit like going to the store to buy milk, and when finding out they have delivery problems and are out of milk you go tell everyone "they may or may not get any more milk again"...
While it's a possible outcome, Blizzard aren't very likely to be selling them for less than production cost, so I'm sure they will do their best to get a more steady supply of the authenticators.
Jul 11th 2008 7:30AM "Blizzard toys with the idea of nerfing lifetap on the PTR. Before the nerf is even implemented on the PTR, massive warlock QQ ensues. Result is that the change is never implemented on the PTR and thus never got patched into the actual game."
In europe, at least, I saw no mention of the lifetap change until after it had already been applied to the PTR. And they had two (slightly) different versions of the change up on the PTR for testing, which I'm sure was true on all public test realms. So how exactly "the change is never implemented on the PTR" could be true I don't know...
I'd also like to point out that there were a couple threads with hundreds of posts in them, where the majority expressed that it wasn't the fact that they were looking at nerfing lifetap that was the problem, but rather the particular method they chose.
Not to mention that in PvE it would not be a nerf, but rather a buff (assuming the players in question replaced some high stamina items). It was actually a stamina nerf, not a lifetap nerf.
Jul 7th 2008 7:23PM A third use is if you got the 5000g mount, but your friend, who only has the slow flying mount, wants to group. Instead of crawling along with your slow mount, you could (hopefully) get a fast mount that seats both you and your friend comfortably.

"The Forsaken whom we have allied with have a history wrought with deceit. Too hasty was our pact. Perhaps Cairne would have been wise to heed the warnings from Orgrimmar."
It appears, at least from what Sage Truthseeker tells us, that it was Cairne who was driving the alliance with the forsaken, not Thrall. (Likely due to Magatha Grimtotem's advice, but still.) So I doubt anyone in the alliance would accept the "noble" Tauren, given their choice in allies.
All in all though, from the same quest you can see that the undead's plans are *not* something that is common knowledge in the horde.
The quests about the plague is not restricted to undead only, but that is for gameplay reasons, not lore reasons. And besides, no player can choose to reveal to Thrall what the Forsaken are up to, which implies that only those who are loyal to the Forsaken are allowed knowledge about the plague (most likely expecting to become a forsaken themselfs when the plague hits).
