Paladin changes in Beta build 8982 {WoW}

Sep 25th 2008 1:54PM The fact that Holy has seen nothing since feedback was asked for is starting to really make me mad. I take that back, we've seen two nerfs in our tree, Holy Guidance going down to a max of 20% and just yesterday, judgments not refreshing on hits. There has not been much change for Holy, no real attention either. I got GC to drop a few lines on the state of Holy on the Paladin forums and it seems that we are already regarded as one of the better healers, and therefor not receiving much change. Any big changes will probably come after release when people start getting out there and producing numbers.

Really wish the Holy community would get some attention. We've contributed so many suggestions on how to improve Holy, and we've seen nothing returned.

Sep 9th 2008 5:50PM They are looking to shuffle talents in all three trees to make it more of a hybrid jump than a brick wall to get to the cake. Right now to pick up kings, as Holy, there is one talent you'll probably have a use for Guardian's Favor, 2 point tier 2 talent. To get there you need to either increase your dodge by 5% or str by 5%, which is going to really benefit me as a healer? Neither... To get an extra 5% crit for holy, you need 15 points invested in Ret, Tier 1 Benediction is the only favorable talent to get there, the rest is just spending points. That's really all I'll go into because I don't spend much time out of Holy to know of anything else, but you do have to invest points into talents you won't have a use for to get one talent that will.

In arena's, yes... Paladins will be something to fear a bit more. You'll need a dispeller, spellsteal or purge to get rid of beacon of light (which will be padded by every other buff) to keep two people from being healed the same. On top of that, Divine Guardian is prots answer to MS, imo. Warrior debuffs MS, you pop DG, 20% healing reduction > 50%, and your team mates are taking 30% less damage.

I doubt kings will be removed as it's a paladin exclusive. Druids bring brez and innervate, we can't bring a 30 minute buff that helps everyone out? It would be nice to see it get moved to either Ret or Holy because it would be more sensible to invest it there than over a buff such as Sanctuary. It's unique, not dependent like a lot of the buffs that were paired off were, I haven't seen a raid called because there wasn't a pally for kings. I've seen people skipped out because they didn't have it, which I would hope would be even more of a reason to make it baseline.

Sep 9th 2008 11:49AM Two options for kings, baseline or getting moved over into another tree. Two blessings in one tree = 1 choice.
My guess is that they are either going to change up ret so sheathbots seem a tad bit more appetizing, prot so its not a bloat of talents you won't use just to pick up Dev Aura and Kings, and Holy maybe so ret/prot can be a viable off-spec healer in raids?
If she's talking about the Beacon on beta as of before maintanence today, it's either going to lose the 100% heal coefficient, or the crit mechanic of Beacon is going to change.
It would be nice with the new Replenishment mechanic to allow the old mechanic to apply to the caster in some way. Reason being that if 10 other targets are below your mana pool, and you jotw or VT or HP, you're doing nothing but damage, you don't get the buff (correct me if I'm wrong on that). Nerf the coefficient on the personal return, but at least give the caster something they can feel better about. Would help lolret out so much given the nerf to jotw put them right back where they are now in TBC. It would promote spriests to keep doing damage, and hunters as well.
the 1-2 talents in prot and ret better be really appetizing, sure hope they end up folding a few talents into each other in prot and holy too.
I won't hold my breath for paladins, though. We'll get all these nice new toys, the elitists of the class will figure out the most OP way to use them, and people will QQ massively in PvP because of it. Beacon, conviction, divine guardian, and most likely Infusion of Light in Holy. We'll crit too much, we'll be able to chain mitigate 30% damage, and everytime a HS crits we get a 0 cast time HL, that is crittable, oh and 2v2 and 3v3 paladins will be OP as hell with BoL. Nothing will make you want to cry more when you have a paladin healing two targets for the same amount, at the same time.

Riding Crop in flux {WoW}

Sep 2nd 2008 4:30PM Have it convertible via Inscription. Inscriptionist provides the parchment paper, the Leatherworker the crop, inscribe the parchment and then it could be learned as a passive ability. Would work just like enchanting/inscription synergy does, but the crop can only be made by Leatherworkers and scribed onto the parchment by them.

Anyone that currently has a crop will "already have completed that process" and can go ahead and learn it.

We have mounts, and TBC introduced flying mounts, Wrath has multi-passenger mounts, and maybe in the future we could be seeing our mounts as viable combat mounts? So maybe start a spellbook for it?

Plenty of different options and ideas, it would be kind of cool to see a Blue start a poll on the idea and put it in the hands of the community. a) Passive ability such as the Tauren racial, Cultivation. b) Change the materials and make it a mount enchantment c) Leave it as a trinket. d) Failoc desides...

Aug 27th 2008 11:16AM This is a question I've always wondered, does Beacon of Light attribute threat to the paladin or its target? And also with Divine Guardian, does it turn Divine Shield into an absorption bubble like some think it mentions, or how does that work, exactly?

Why Blizzard needs to put AH data on the Armory {WoW}

Aug 20th 2008 4:30PM This would be a big problem to put the AH on the armory. It would be a huge influx of data transfer to get all items constantly being updated on the house, and well, it would just create too much chaos with the kids who complain because they were at school and didn't get to buy said item because they were in math class.

I wouldn't be opposed to something on the armory that kept hourly/daily/weekly/monthly averages for popular items up there. It would help keep a more constant stream with prices and make it more of a market type thing.

Aug 13th 2008 12:56PM I don't think it's that they want to buy them off Ticketmaster, it's just that it would have been logical to have a feature like Ticketmaster where as you get a ticket and it puts it on "reserve" for 2 minutes. During those 2 minutes you can buy or look for another ticket. If you think of it this way, thousands of people put items in their shopping cart and someone came and ninjaed them as they were standing in line, shouldn't be like that. Once the card is in your cart, it's yours for X minutes so you may make the purchase.

Aug 12th 2008 11:36PM wow... I was a step away from buying them and the server crashed... GFG Blizzard. They've seriously pissed me off today. Forms half work, 2 out of 4 browsers wouldnt display the pages correctly (Safari on OS X didn't even get a order button). Wow...

Aug 11th 2008 5:06PM I love server wide events! SSO was a little depressing, AQ was amazing. The idea of having an item that unlocks two completely new instances was just awesome, not to mention the gong banger getting a title that clearly defines them over everyone else on the server, as well as anyone within 12 hours completing the quest getting the bug mount. SSO didn't have that. Yes it unlocked new vendors and a sleu of new rep items, but there wasn't any epicness in it at all. What really killed it, imo, was when Blizzard decided to take out server participation with gates. They could have easily scaled it based on server population.

First patch = pvptards qq'ed (nerfs incoming)

Second patch = moar endgame (unlocking new raids)

Third patch = Icecrown Glacier (Lich King gets handed his own head on a silver platter)

Fourth patch = Casuals get a buff towards endgame (Attunements either get nerfed or taken out, epics for all)
