Feb 18th 2009 12:35AM Sorry, big mistake in last post. I was writing about Illidan in Outland, not Arthas.
Feb 18th 2009 12:33AM Why complaining about "good turned bad". Who says they turned bad. May be we will fight good guys now for purples for once. Why not ?
And Arthas may be good guy too that we fought. If we remeber right then he was only one who did keep legion out of outland and did kept their portals sealed where possible. With Arthas death now Outland is just free grab for Burning Legion, or I am wrong ?
And no heroes to help fight demons back too as we all have moved on for better purples to Northrend.
Second good/bad guys : Nether/twilight dragons. Same whose eggs we destroy at Sartharion. We considered them good when they where out allies agains Illidan. Now we are destoying them because they might be magic eaters and there are not enough magic for them and us...
May 16th 2008 5:15AM I think problem lies in other aspect: in way where hunter niche between classes where designed.
Hunters are designed to be weak but sustainable over long time damage class. We are given 3 weak simultaneous damage sources: pet, autoshot, steady shot.
Why ? Because when hunters do get powerful burst damage, they are overpowered ranged dps without counters. Battlegrounds before TBC did proved this when we could burst most clothies with aimed+auto+multi in second.
On other hand in arenas now is clear that Blizz have overshot in countering hunters almost invulnerability in battlegrounds. Also weak sustained damage have no place in raids, this causes us to get rogue gear at expense of possible mana problems.
I agree with article part about unpredictability of changes. Changes in several patches often contradict changes in next patches, like we where given undocumented ability to get 4th pet to learn abililities, but this was scrapped few patches later instead of fixing issues with this. We got spell damage scaling on pets and removed through near zero coeficients for it later. For me this seems like in Blizzard no one wants look at hunter class in depth, or add more to it. We may get token attention once in few patches like adding and removing instant scare beast and nothing more.
May 2nd 2008 7:48AM This is not about which system is more safe or not. IE7 is vulnerable, Firefox is vulnerable.
Attack scripts are made for browser with widest market share and that is IE. IE7 may be safe itself, but as any browser it needs lot of side addons to run, like Flash/Java/Realplayer and their vulnearabilities open full access even on properly configured Vista with IE7.
I did switched from IE to Firefox after first trojan, removal of what required format C:. Antivirus will warn 80% of time if you your computer is getting infected, and there nothing you can do for other 20% other than switch your browser to one that does not recognize attack scripts.
Mar 25th 2008 12:35PM My thoughts about patch:
2. it was possible to shoot flare from shadowmeld.
PvP nerf to nightelf hunters. (I am dwarf hunter myself)
3. this is good PvE fix. I do not know why this was broken in last patch.
5. PvP nerf to steady and aimed shot.
Now just run past hunter and hunter will get message "need to face target" after cast is done. Running through hunter will not interrupt cast, hunter will have to do himself.
What I hope, that they have fixed jammed autoshot problem in patch or after failed steady/aimed cast our autoshot will be jammed for rest of arena fight...
(this is same problem with kill command)
1. Buff that may make 1/2 talent choice usable. Until now it was all or nothing, 15% where not realy meaningful.
2. As others mentioned, multishot improvement was taken out.
1) resilence affecting drain.
2) druid nerfs affects hunters with same nerfbat. Only top ranked 2v2 hunter teams where druid/hunter.
Good or bad patch?
While it looks like that now in PvP hunters will be weaker, actually this patch does what hunters suggested in forums: take out Viper sting to see real hunter problems. With hunters getting down from now famous "43%,50%,43%", we have chance for some nice buffs in future.
