Dec 7th 2010 6:38PM Well, might as well give all of the contests a try.

Oct 21st 2010 2:23AM While I don't know if it's the overall approved method for topping out your AOE DPS, there is something you can do to crank it up a bit more than just run around and let SW:P tick on mobs.
While it may seem counter intuitive, Holy Nova actually does more DPS right now than Mind Sear. So dot everything, drop Shadow Form, and then run around like a crazy priest spamming holy nova. You'll get more DPS than just mind searing, you'll spawn shadow clones, and your SW:P will be ticking. Sadly in heroics, I just tend to use Holy Nova to get the best results - I sometimes wonder if I'd be better of just running as Disc and spamming spells to kill things.
Long story short, Mind Sear needs some love.
Mar 18th 2008 12:52PM I think the greater substance - ie, that druids tend to take changes like this with a stiff upper lip - comes from back in the old pre-BC days of druids, where literally the main group of people who played druids were those dedicated to the class. Back then, druids really were in rough straights - we rolled with the punches, because in general people who wanted to win and didn't enjoy the flavor of the class rolled something else.
That has seemed to change ever since the advent of Arena, and druids becoming a much stronger class in the 2v2 bracket. People play Druids now because they're a winning class - that tends to make people bitter when their guaranteed class gets hit by the nerf bat.
Overall, this change seems to make Cyclone into a better anti-melee tool, and not one that you can use to lock down casters and ranged DPS while you focus fire on their friends closer in. Not all that unreasonable, although like any real range reduction, it still hurts for a while.
