Addon Spotlight: TipTac {WoW}

Jun 16th 2008 9:12AM Cowtip can look great, it just takes a little work to set it up. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of DogTag's syntax and options. No option to show buffs isn't that big a deal (to me), since it's information that's provided by the various unit frames anyway.

Badges in Wrath {WoW}

Tips for the youths applying to guilds this summer {WoW}

May 28th 2008 8:28AM Too long, didn't read, stopped at

"People like you make me sick. You need to have the ability to look at the player's gear and make a judgment based on that rather than age."

From my observations, usually it's the most greedy, selfish, and all-round asshole'ish players that are decked out in the great gear. This has been proven to me time and time again (usually it's Huntards and Rogues).

Regardless, your rant on the subject has done little to dispel the belief that the under 18 crowd are immature little babies with a self-inflated sense of importance in the world... of Warcraft.

Next time, try posting an insightful comment that eloquently expresses why you disagree with the article, rather than throwing a temper tantrum that just reinforces it.

Blizzard: Sharing Wrath data is "extremely offensive and inappropriate" {WoW}

May 23rd 2008 9:08AM Blizzard needs to pick up a relatively modern dictionary and revise their language a bit.

"Posting Unreleased Content / Hacking Data Files"

hacking : To write or refine computer programs skillfully. Not to be confused with cracking; popular media has mistakenly assigned malicious attributes to this word (unfortunately, this incorrect use of the word does show up in dictionaries).

You cannot "hack into client data files". MPQ's are just archives, like a ZIP file. One does not "totally hax0r a zip file."

In no way should the word "offensive" be applied in this context. The only interpretation of the word would be "causing resentful displeasure", and if Blizzard's suffering from that just because their paying customers are _excited_ about what's coming, maybe they need to reexamine how they think of and treat their customers.

Shame on Blizzard. Their games may be phenomenal and incredibly popular, but as a company, they're absolutely horrible and petty.

Nihilum apologizes... {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2008 7:42AM "everyone was at least weary that this one was not a joke"

weary - physically or mentally exhausted by hard work, exertion, strain, etc.; fatigued; tired

wary - watchful; being on one's guard against danger

Fear my mighty wordiness.

Write Blizzard an essay to PvP... if you're Canadian {WoW}

Mar 27th 2008 9:06AM 250 words? Most forums allow signatures longer than this. Not much of an "essay".

Breakfast Topic: Should there be honor in PvP? {WoW}

Mar 25th 2008 10:23AM I don't gank very often (in three years, I can count the number of times on two hands). Getting jacked frustrates me when I'm just doing my thing and bothering no one, so why would I be a hypocrite and do it to someone else?

I /spit and /golfclap when I get ganked, I hate world PvP because it's not really player versus player, it's usually my level 30 alt against the asshat with nothing better to do on his level 70. Yeah, I should have played on a PvE server, but I joined a PvP because it's the realm my brother was on. Call me a carebear, but I don't pay my monthly fee so that some jackass can vent his pent up frustrations or sociopathic tendencies at me.

/spit in battlegrounds makes me laugh. You're there to kill and be killed, why make an ass of yourself?

And for all the lore nuts out there, I seem to remember Thrall giving a speech about being honourable and showing your enemies compassion and mercy.

The Light and How to Swing It: State of the class {WoW}

Mar 20th 2008 9:21AM I'm surprised no one's mentioned the Forbearance debuff yet. This was the stupidest thing added to the class (I started my Paladin before it was added), that's just become even dumber as time goes by. These days there's no good reason why it should exist any more. In PvP, BoP is practically useless as it's easily purged and doesn't protect us from magic attacks (our biggest weakness). And our bubble that renders us immune to all attacks is easily dispelled by any Priest that's observant and quick. In PvE, BoP is usually used to save someone else's ass, reserving the bubble for ourselves. Finally, the only decent burst buff we got, Avenging Wrath, triggers the Forbearance debuff for no good reason, meaning we can do a little bit more damage for a little bit of time, but we're screwed if we need to hit our panic button.

I can't think of any other class whose key, nay defining, abilities are screwed by such a stupid game mechanic. Yes, PW:Shield puts up a debuff that prevents shielding again for n seconds, but that's all it affects.

I also find it disappointing that our melee hybrid class has all of one additional melee ability (CS) if we spec for it, and that our biggest potential damage dealing seal can't quite compete with the class Paladins had long been compared against: Shamans and Windfury. Paladins have a chance for an extra attack at 70% damage, Shamans get a chance for 2 extra attacks with an increase in attack power. Paladins are supposed to be the melee hybrids, Shamans the caster hybrids.
