The Queue: Titan's Midriff {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 9:16PM C'thun is Kuh'thoon. I think of C'thulu, Kuh-thoo-loo. The old gods are sort of parodies/homages to H.P. Lovecraft's stuff... XP

PTR Client Patch 4.0.1 available for download {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 9:06PM It'll be at least a month or two, still. I recall a couple of blue posts on MMO Champion stating there would be some tweaks in the "next coming weeks", which to me could mean at least a month worth of testing still, possibly more.

Of course, I'm giddy as all hell because I want Cataclysm to come NOW. XP I'm trying to be patient, I really am. =)

The Lawbringer: This MMO is too addictive! I'm suing! {WoW}

Aug 27th 2010 9:54PM Here's a good question for those addicted to video games: if one wasn't addicted to video games, can one prove that one would NOT replace that addiction to video games with something else?

I quit WOW for a year, thinking it was my problem. However, even though I didn't allow myself to play ANY video games whatsoever, I still found countless things to distract myself with. Video games, even MMOs, were not the problem.

It turned out i have a huge issue with procrastination, and that's the long and short of it. I love to escape, and video games is an easy way to do it--though it's not the only way, not by far. A lawsuit will not resolve my issue with procrastination. I am learning to take responsibility for myself. :)

It doesn't make any sense for me to avoid that thing that takes five minutes to complete by avoiding it for three months...

Aug 27th 2010 9:48PM Here's an idea not just for video games, but life in general: people need to take responsibility for their own lives. Period. No ifs, no ands, no buts.

And that the United States supposedly has 75% of the world's lawyers. I do sometimes wonder how much legal fees have increased the total cost of living...?

Breakfast Topic: I'm not actually "playing" right now {WoW}

Aug 21st 2010 2:01PM If one is logged into World of Warcraft, one is playing. The AH *is* part of the game, even if it doesn't feel like "playing". :)

Breakfast Topic: This is the game that never ends ... {WoW}

Aug 13th 2010 8:46AM Absolutely true. I try to be very aware of how I'm feeling. If I feel myself becoming unhappy, grumpy or bored, time to log off and do something else. This is a game, and it should be fun. =)

Aug 13th 2010 8:44AM Having actually burnt out several times for this very reason, I can say that it's really not healthy to obsess about all the stuff there is to do. There's a safe and sane way to handle it.

It's important to realize that all one can ever do is one thing at a time. Pick one thing on your to-do list, and do it. Also, it helps to keep that "one thing" realistic. "I'm going to get all my badge gear!" is not realistic. Neither is "I'll get one piece today!" A bit more realistic is "I'll get ten emblems today, on one of my characters." Basically, one wants a goal one can reasonably attain and still be able to do other things with your actual life (work, pay bills, have fun outside of the game, etc).

It's possibly to play from the moment one wakes up till the moment one goes to bed and *still* feel like one is terribly behind. It's a dangerous way of thinking.

Scattered Shots: Cataclysm beta hunter video sneek peek {WoW}

Jul 20th 2010 7:29AM As I understand it, quivers will be converted to hunter-only bags. You can use them to store anything in them.
