Mar 22nd 2008 2:54PM Actually, the lack of a meta socket is what makes this helmet better than any other helmet before Faceplate of the Impenetrable (with the *possible* exception of T6; in the patch, however, this will completely destroy the Onslaught helmet). A meta socket generally replaces 2 sockets. The only tank-viable gem until 2.4 is 18sta/5% stun resist. The stun resist part is unimportant and unreliable, so we are looking at a 18sta gem. However, this helmet has 2 normal sockets, instead of a meta socket, so that's 2x12(15)sta VS 18sta. This makes a meta socket-less helmet a clear winner (if it has 3 sockets, that is).

PS: This is going to change in 2.4 however, with the new and highly interesting meta gem from the new faction.
