Breakfast Topic: Not a patch day {WoW}

Jan 27th 2009 12:27PM I'm just saying, not all hunters that were once top as BM then respecced to SV will be top in meters.

Survival takes timing and has a more involved shot rotation than BM. I played with a BM > SV hunter last night in heroic Naxx last night and he was 1500 dps below mine (I too was BM, and switched to SV). The truly skilled players will continue to top dps meters while the unskilled will do worse.

Breakfast Topic: Not a patch day {WoW}

Jan 27th 2009 8:34AM "Even Hunters, who were supposed to get a nerf, simply re-specced to Survival and went along their merry DPS meter-topping ways."

While this is true to some extent, it's not all true. To be able to excel at Survival, it's no longer one button mashing. If you want to top meters, you actually have to work for it now. I think the Survival spec is perfect the way it is and much harder to play "right" than Beastmaster was. I hope they leave the spec as it is. I've yet to see a Hunter once BM gone SV top the meters.

When questing is the reward {WoW}

Jan 15th 2009 1:50PM Judging from almost everyone's responses in this thread, they haven't fully quested in all areas of the game.

There are much much better questlines than the Wintergarde one.. no cinematics though.

When it comes to questing, nothing beats the questlines in Icecrown. Even though the whole zone reeks of Mordor from Lord of the Ring's Middle Earth, the questline are truly epic and amazingly fun... from playing as a leaping frogging geist jumping up cliffs and causing havoc in the scourge area, to fighting waves and waves of scourge as an level 80 ELITE to secure an extra flight point, playing as the Lich King himself and building an army of zombies, and them BATTLING the demon lord Illidan HIMSELF as Arthas.... I mean... it's great fun..

IF YOU HAVEN'T HIT ICECROWN YET... I highly suggest you do...

I also have a comment in regards to the Sons of Hodir being the most important faction in the expansion... it's true to some extent... if you're a Scribe, Sons of Hodir is only nice for the mounts :)

Forum post of the day: Broken records incoming {WoW}

Aug 22nd 2008 2:46PM I have been levelling an alt using TourGuide, but no triple XP.
I'm 51 now and 2days, 16hours playtime, which I think is ridiculous. I'm not even trying to beat the record. If I was, I'd be 60ish right now.

Like he said, low levels is srs business.

Characters for iPhone updated to 2.0 {WoW}

Aug 18th 2008 3:20PM Very interesting app.

After reading this, I was wondering if there'd be any interest for a similar app for the BlackBerry products. I currently work the company and been thinking about doing device application development work. This would be a nice little project to do on the side, but I'd need to know what kind of interest there is for such an app.

Let me know what you all think.

Addon Spotlight: TourGuide (UPDATED) {WoW}

Jul 28th 2008 12:30PM This Addon is awesome. I was using QuestHelper for a long time, but it broke, unable to map coordinates and waypoints or something.

I downloaded this, started a new toon, a hunter, ( I already have 3 at 70 ), and haven't looked back since.

One thing I really like about it, is if you're a hunter and there's a new skill to be learned in a zone, it will tell you to stable your pet, and tame a specific creature.

I started with the quest guide on Azuremyst Isle and it's mapped everything up to my current location, which is level 25 in Wetlands.

The best feature I found was that it seems to pick up all relevant questlines.. no useless stuff. For example, when I was done on Bloodmyst Island, it had me go to Darkshore, and pick 3-4 few questlines, relevant to my level, then guided me to Ashenvale. It skips all the "low level" quests.

I've been taking my time, and already level 25, and only about 20 hours play time.

I love it!

Wrath Beta patch notes: Paladin part V - The Retribution tree {WoW}

Jul 20th 2008 2:44AM Don't forget that you have a insta-cast Holy Wrath that stuns for 3 secs. Should give you plenty of time to close.

Use it before judging command. If you think about it... ret pallies will now have 3 stuns. Makes it great for PvP.

Wrath Beta patch notes: Paladin part V - The Retribution tree {WoW}

Jul 20th 2008 1:24AM You only talked about it briefly.... but Repetance is a HUGE change... Retadins can now CC!

It's like a Sap, (last 1 min, but usable in combat). Retadins will now be way more pheasable in 5 mans that require a lot of CC.

Staying out of Outland {WoW}

May 16th 2008 1:51PM I hit Outlands on all my toons at 60, not sooner. Even before 2.3 hit. My first toon was a pally, and I didn't buy BC as it was released... so I had no choice.

Second toon was a Druid. I hate leaving quests undone... dropping them.. so I finished all the quests in my log book and hit Outlands at 61.

And currently levelling a Rogue on Kargath. I stayed in Azeroth until 60. However, after 60, it gets really slow to level in Azeroth. My gear wasn't that great to start with and I was questing in Silithus mostly. After a full night, I barely put a dent in my XP bar, so I decided to head to Outlands. The first few quests there were all big gear upgrades for me. I'm almost 62 now. Maybe I should head back to Silithus.. I want to work on my Cenarion Circle rep.
