Opt-out option incoming for recent authenticator security change {WoW}

Jul 26th 2011 8:37PM "The absence of the authenticator prompt does not compromise security whatsoever."

Perhaps it doesn't, but I personally feel much safer being asked for the authenticator code every time I login to the game. I have never had a virus or keylogger on my computers, ever, but I still love the authenticator. You can never be too safe.

I paid for an authenticator because I wanted to put in a code every time I logged in. Every time - not just when Blizzard thinks I should put the code in.

Opt-out option incoming for recent authenticator security change {WoW}

Jul 26th 2011 8:35PM So security to you is only a "minor" issue but a purely cosmetic feature that has nothing to do with anything is considered not minor?

And you're worried about Blizzard's priorities... hmm. Look in the mirror.

Have you ever found bored NPCs? {WoW}

Jul 6th 2011 9:25PM I believe he accepts the daily inscription quest "Forged Documents"

Most of the NPCs you can turn that quest in to say something amusing when you complete the quest.

Grunt Grimful says "I really need to stop gambling. Tell them no more cards for me."

Funny stuff.

Patch 4.2 PTR: New login screen temporary? {WoW}

May 16th 2011 5:25PM Exactly. We got a brand new city while the Alliance had theirs destroyed.

The current (live) login screen makes me happy every time I see it.

For the Horde!!

Patch 4.2 PTR: New login screen temporary? {WoW}

May 16th 2011 2:17PM The authenticator box was removed because they supposedly have a new better way of doing it which they will launch soon™

Personally I don't get why they felt the need to remove it until said feature is implemented, but we all know what Blizzard is like.

WoW remote guild chat updated {WoW}

Apr 6th 2011 7:41PM "Shudder at the thought of more than one wife."

Absolutely. One is more than enough.

Breakfast Topic: Should WoW bring back attunements? {WoW}

Feb 9th 2011 8:17AM Attunements were fun. Sure, some may have been a bit long but it was just one of those things you did if you wanted to be able to do raids and high end dungeons. It showed that you were willing to put in the effort and that you actually wanted to participate, rather than making a last minute decision to do something because you were bored.

These days everything is rush rush rush. People want to do everything but don't want to put any effort in to doing it.

Personally I would love for Blizzard to bring back attunements but it won't happen.

The Lawbringer: A primer on private servers {WoW}

Jan 28th 2011 8:41PM I think private servers can serve a useful purpose, but not to the extent in which they are primarily used by the majority of people who use them.

I have been a paying WoW subscriber since 2007. Never missed a month. I also had two paying accounts for myself at one point, but I'm back to one now.

Have I used a private server in that time? Absolutely. I enjoyed being able to explore the old world in ways that were not possible on live. For me it was mostly an exploration thing. With Cata the need for that has pretty much gone because we can fly everywhere now but we all know it wasn't always like that.

As others have said, most private servers have a lot broken functionality and aren't as playable as you would expect, but they do the most basic things without a problem.

Blizzard has every right to go after people who only play on private servers and don't pay for anything, but I don't see how my use of the private servers years ago for exploring purposes hurt Blizzard in any way. It's all relative to how/what you use them for.
