All the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria previews you can shake an empty fist at {Massively}

Mar 19th 2012 5:31PM As someone who started playing WoW in early 2006, took two separate 1-year long breaks, and who is currently casually enjoying Cataclysm with my friends, I can safely say this seems like more good fun to me. I play MMO's to play with my friends, and I find myself always coming back to WoW. I've tried EVE, Rift, ToR, STO, LotRO, and probably others, but the one thing that keeps me coming back to WoW are the relationships I've built and continue to enjoy there. To me this trumps any changes to game design or philosophy that Blizzard may or may not have made in the last 6 years.

I understand people play(ed) this game for a variety of reasons, and perhaps many have very valid reasons for leaving WoW (though I can't bring myself to understand some of the more offensive and vitriolic comments I read here) but, I (and I'm pretty sure quite a few more) will continue to enjoy my time in the world Blizzard has crafted. :)

Diablo III launches May 15th [Updated] {Massively}

Mar 15th 2012 8:01PM @embleau Massively seems to have a readership that is highly critical of Blizzard. I just figure it's because they're the MMO site that tends to focus on "everything but" WoW. (though they do cover the important blizzard news) ... therefore they attract a lot of readers who have either left WoW for one reason or another, or have other issues with Blizzard in general. (The most common I see voiced is the view that Activision has somehow ruined a company many once held dear.) While I don't completely agree with this position, I do see where it's coming from. It's unfortunate to see the amount of vitriol sometimes, but opinions come in all forms I guess.

Anyway, that's just how I see it... and I've just come to expect negative comments on articles related to Blizzard properties. It's just the way it is I guess. :\

Diablo III shelves PvP to make launch {Massively}

Mar 10th 2012 1:47AM @Wensbane I really wasn't trying to offend (or be a dick). It's just frustrating as someone who enjoys a lot of MMO's (Including WoW) to see an overwhelming majority of the comments reflect hate towards Blizzard whenever I read an article about them on Massively. I probably could have been a little more constructive, but there's such a sense of hostility towards Blizzard here that I just felt like anything positive I might have to say about them would have gotten downvoted just as quickly as my trollish comment did. I'll give it a shot anyway.

I'm still a fan of Blizz. They've set the standard for MMO's for the last 7 years, and I've (personally) not played one that feels as elegant or fun to play as WoW does. For a 7 year old game, that has to count for something. I understand that some people have fallen out of love with them because some of their philosophies have changed over time, but to me that's just one of the necessary parts of having to appeal to over 10million players. There are going to be people, like you, that end up resenting them for it... and that's ok. I still enjoy playing their games, and I think that's ok too.

I guess my frustration regarding the comments in this article in particular is that Blizzard is basically telling it's fans they don't want to make them wait any longer, so they're going to remove what most consider a secondary aspect of the game (one that I almost forgot was even coming)... However, I can almost guarantee that if they had announced they were delaying the game again because they wanted to fix PvP I'd see an equal amount of negativity. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's just how I see it.

Also, I'd like the add that I really do "love you guys." I'm glad your passionate about these nerdy games we all love, I just wish there was a bit less vitriol about the stuff you happen to disagree with. :)

Anyways, sorry for being a little ironically trollish... I'm usually a bit more mature than than. lol

Mar 9th 2012 10:23PM It's always refreshing to read all the Blizzard haters come together on Massively and hate Blizzard... Love you guys, I really do.

Mar 9th 2012 10:12PM @Sorithal Actually Blizzard's stance has always been more "if we can't get it right, we'll just cancel it." So, this really is more like them then most on this site seem to think.

What could a World of Warcraft loyalty or veteran program look like? {WoW}

Feb 20th 2012 5:39PM @Edymnion If you're saying it's "ugly", because is it's basically a horse skeleton, and therefore not a very pretty creature then I see where you're coming from. But if you mean from an art design standpoint I'd have to disagree with you. I think it's a pretty cool looking mount, and I'd love to have my shadow priest riding around on it... now if only it could fly. :P
