Silicon Knights gets $4 million from Canadian government {Joystiq}

Apr 13th 2010 11:21AM People seem to forget that the government just recently gave $226 million to ubisoft for the toronto studio. For those that can't do math that's 56.5 times as much money.

Maintenance for Tuesday November 3rd {WoW}

Nov 2nd 2009 10:18PM Be waaaaaaaaaaaayyy too busy playing Dragon Age tomorrow anyway :)

Patch 3.3 PTR: Meet Arcturis, the newest and coolest Spirit Beast {WoW}

Oct 31st 2009 4:06PM Now if Blizzard could just fix the BM spec so it's not a big pile of fail then we could actually use these awesome pets! My spirit beast has been sitting in my stable for months and months.

WoW Moviewatch: Ulduar: The Movie 2/3 {WoW}

Sep 28th 2009 12:36PM It's alright. However there is better work out there in terms of quality when filming the fights, camera angles, and editing.
The most obvious example would be this one: http://warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=118569
The camera work, editing, and overall quality isn't comparable. However it's just fights and no dialogue or anything. Probably why you never featured it?

Oh, and Jack's ulduar movie comes out in like 2 days and that will trump everything.

Razer announces the Naga MMO mouse {WoW}

Aug 19th 2009 5:26PM really? you aren't going to be able to easily pick out those teeny tiny buttons while moving the mouse around. Maybe if you have freakishly small fingers or something but I think even if my hand was just bone I could accidentally hit more than 1 button.

I have the steelseries wow mouse and the thumb buttons on that is a lot different. Your thumb rests on it during normal use and it just takes a slight nudge in either direction for a button press, so theres no real searching for buttons.

I guess I'd need to try the razer myself but I would never buy it without actually feeling it in my hand first and stores around me don't carry mice like that.

Breakfast Topic: Will you buy the TCG mounts now they're no longer BoP? {WoW}

Jul 28th 2009 8:27AM You're kinda delusional if you think the spectral tiger will go for only 20k. Remember this can be sold for as much as $1k real money and a code only gets you 1 mount to sell. I can't see them going for much less than 50k gold frankly, probably more.

Requiring epic achievements for normal runs {WoW}

Jun 17th 2009 3:18PM Wow, what a dumb requirement. I have THIRTEEN equipped pieces of Ulduar 25 loot and I still dont have the Epic achievement. Why? Because of my trinkets. Greatness and Mirror. Greatness is better than any trinket in the game and Mirror is only a few dps below Ulduar trinkets for me (hunter).

I have like 10 best in slots plus 4 piece tier 8.5 and I couldn't get into this guy's Naxx 10 if I wanted to? LOL.

The ins and outs of the Shroud Loot System {WoW}

Jun 12th 2009 8:51AM Sounds like DKP to me, and DKP is fail imo. I would never be in a guild using it.

In my guild we do attendance-modified rolls based off your previous month's attendance. i.e. if you were there for 70% of the raids in May, you will roll 1-70 in June. New recruits roll 1-15 while trying out and the minimum roll for members is 1-25.

In very rare cases, officers will do loot council but in all of Ulduar I've only seen that used once or twice.

Scattered Shots: Pets for raiding {WoW}

Apr 30th 2009 11:33PM If you want to max your DPS, you use a Wolf for all specs... Blizzard tries and fails to make pets balanced. It pains me that my Spirit beast is literally hundreds of DPS less than a Wolf in a raid environment. There's something fundamentally wrong with that.

Ready Check: Is Ulduar too easy? {WoW}

Apr 26th 2009 5:11PM Yes, Ulduar is hard enough. Just because top tier guilds can clear it quickly means nothing. I've seen Ulduar tear several guilds apart - people get frustrated without progression like they saw in Naxx and they start leaving.

Ulduar is tuned almost perfectly in my opinion. Oh, and just because some guilds are killing bosses doesn't mean they are on farm status yet either. The following week it's still taking some of them numerous attempts.

Ulduar is fine.
