Jan 9th 2009 10:40AM This makes sense to me...
Heroics and 10-man Naxx: Heroism
25-man Naxx and 10-man Ulduar: Valor
25-man Ulduar and 10-man Whatever: Doodad for Epics
25-man Whatever and 10-man Icecrown: Better Doodad for Epics
25-man Icencrown: Bestest Doodad for Epics
Then they maintain the 10x rule between each. Yes, you can run Heroics and Naxx for Emblems of Heroism and pay 10x per tier to get better gear. That makes one 25-man Icecrown Emblem worth about 10,000 Emblems of Heroism.
Nov 24th 2008 9:36AM Just enjoy your warm fuzzy for having made a small effort to improve the overall experience on your RP server. I play on one, and I've reported grossly non-RP names and such.
However, you're going to get flamed for looking for validation from Blizz for your actions. Blizz doesn't offer "yes we agree or no we don't" to those reporting non-RP content, because it's all in the eye of the beholder. If some guy names himself Roflin, he may or may not understand that his name can be taken out of context. It's not up to you, as a consumer, to decide or even get some kind of cookie from Blizz.
Nov 19th 2008 10:32AM Dalaran is right in the middle of Northrend. Once all the quests are done, there's no real reason to set your hearthstone anywhere else. When the dual-spec thing is put in, there will literally be no reason to go back to Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor besides CoT: Strathholme. I'm an engineer who can travel to Blade's Edge or Tanaris at will, and other folks can just take the portal from Dalaran to Shattrath, and then talk to the lady in World's End Tavern.
The dps ring is also horribly itemized for a protection warrior, even in a dps role. No thanks.
Nov 12th 2008 3:26PM He says 9 pm pacific standard time for the US realms. Fairly clearly at that.
You can pick up your CD key at a retailer at midnight in your timezone. You install the game and enter the CD key, then you play. This isn't rocket science =P
The folks that are in the subsequent timezones still have to wait until midnight to pick the game up, unless you bought the expansion yesterday during one of your 7-11 Hotpocket runs. In theory, those people should be able to log in earlier than their timezone's "Midnight Release."
Nov 7th 2008 11:52AM For the folks wondering why they post things like this and jump the gun...
Wowinsider does what they do to make money. They get better advertisement deals based on the number of viewers of their site. Much like other news networks, being first with breaking news gets them a lot of press, and other news sites are forced to quote Wowinsider as breaking the story. They get free press on those other sites, as well as increased website hits. All of that translates into increased advertisement revenue.
As a result, they post up that the WoW website is down... they then can update that "breaking news" with "ZOMG Lich King Attacks!" and make lots of advertisement money.
Nov 6th 2008 3:13PM Assuming that Activision does things because Blizzard tells them to do it is false. Activision handles the box releases in this manner because they like their profit margin to be as smooth and predictable as possible. They're a publicly traded company, and public companies abhor stock fluctuation. They want it to go up, at a predictable rate. Investors do too.
What they are saying to investors is that they do not want people to devalue their stock after the Christmas season. Activision has a stable source of income in World of Warcraft.
Nov 5th 2008 2:41PM You're completely ignoring the benfits of redundancy if certain players go down during a fight. Executed perfectly? Yeah bring raw dps classes if you have all the buffs/debuffs covered.
When your lone shadow priest takes a dirt nap, have fun with mana. Yeah, no need for that ret pally or survival hunter then, amirite?
Sep 5th 2008 10:09PM But but... what do you mean prot warriors are the perfectly viable as the only tanks on a raid. But but... our niches!
Lol, how quickly the responses change eh? How does it feel to know that the prot paladin AoE and feral druid OT high threat niches are up for grabs, too? Welcome to the "4 tanks being equal." Blizzard meant it, looks like.
