Breakfast Topic: Idiosyncrasies {WoW}

Oct 27th 2008 9:07AM Not sure if this is the kind of quirk you mean but..

I really enjoy RPing, but my main is on a normal PvE server (only alt I have on a RP server is 22), but despite that I have to have a personality for all of my characters. I don't really see them as just extensions of me like so many do, but rather their own separate people. If I don't have a personality for them within the first ten levels I feel awkward and they tend not to stick around.

Sometimes I have trouble coming up with a personality for an alt and something as simple as re-rolling them with a new face, hairstyle, or name fixes it and I'm fine. No matter what though, I just need to be able to know who they are and why they are or are not doing the things they're doing.

Breakfast Topic: What would you wish for? {WoW}

Sep 16th 2008 8:52AM Rovec, my main character, would wish for immortality returned to the Night Elves.

He's a nightelf himself though. Its a great thing to want for a race, but definantly a selfish wish. He's seen death before in a lot of different ways and he's terrified of having to confront it himself.

Breakfast Topic: Getting to know your NPCs {WoW}

Aug 29th 2008 4:27AM Yalda, a ghostly night elf that hangs around darkshore, has got to be top on my list. She doesn't say anything, doesn't move, and isn't part of any quest.

And yet there she stands in the middle of town watching us mere mortals.

Forum post of the day: Dueling debate {WoW}

Aug 27th 2008 6:13AM I agree with the long cooldown and consumable rules when I duel. To me, dueling is about seeing how skilled you are against another player and trying to improve those PvP skills.

If you fight a shaman who throws down a fire elemental, pops heroism, uses leatherworking drums, drops an Engineering flame turret, and chugs health potions the fight isn't going to see who is more skilled at their class and its not going to help anyone get more skilled.

It'll just be an easy kill, a waste of money, and a waste of time.

The roads of Azeroth: Now with biker gangs {WoW}

Jul 20th 2008 4:52PM So WoW can have steam tanks, planes, Gyro-Choppers, robots, but no motorcycles? Your logic seems questionable.

Breakfast topic: Problem paradigms {WoW}

Jul 1st 2008 8:31AM My main is a 70 Feral Druid, my main alt is a 70 Elemental Shaman, and I also have a 44 retribution paladin and a mid 20s hunter. When playing other classes but my Druid I'm often at a lose as to how everyone else gets by. As a Druid I can stealth do ok dps, go into bear for survival, and throw heals on myself and others. When playing other jobs I feel very limited.

Probably why I can't get into many of them.

WWI '08 Notes from the Dungeons & Raids Panel {WoW}

Jun 29th 2008 6:59AM This may be leaked info, I can't remember. So read at your own risk.

But how I understand it lake Wintergrasp will constantly be giving the loser an advantage and those advantages will become bigger and bigger the longer a faction can't take over the keep at Winterspring.

For this reason, I'd prefer the battles to take place more quickly then in the Bone Wastes. Rarely, if ever, can I participate in that because it happens so often. However if the Winterspring event happened say, every hour (with warnings going out Northrend wide as to when it will be up again?) I imagine many more people could get in on the action.

With mounting advantages to the losing team this would probably also ensure that Winterspring is held at least a few times a day even for the most outnumbered faction.

WWI '08 Notes from the Dungeons & Raids Panel {WoW}

Jun 29th 2008 5:00AM I love that last bit about a spirit shard type items around the whole of Northrend based on Winterspring. If the rewards are good, that alone might be enough to keep Winterspring popular, but with daily quests, a zone wide buff, and other rewards I'm pretty confident that Winterspring will be a success.

The geography of WoW space {WoW}

Jun 26th 2008 9:03AM It is referenced? *panics* Guess I need to do more then skim for a link =P Good to know.
