Sep 29th 2008 7:31PM Alliance!
Sep 23rd 2008 10:05PM Just my 2cents.
Having spent a while in the Beta PvPing (noting mostly in Wintergrasp-at 80 so could be a little different for 70s), on a rogue/hunter, my thoughts are for 3.0:
-> Beware the Paladin (damn plate buggers dont die and their damage is huge)
-> That mirror image on mages is the only time I thought I was doing good damage (until I realised I was hitting an image ... it seems to deselect your current target and select a 'mirror image' when it goes up)
-> Using Killing Spree didnt have the 'i-melt-your-face' kind of feel, the way Beastial Wrath does now. Just to me feels a little low in damage, though that could be just my noobness. When I was on one target, hardly took off 20%, on multiple targets the damage was laughable.
-> Disengage was fun and particularly combined with Masters call/wingclip is pretty handy.
and lastly I thank god we still have a little more time before death knights are in. Oh and I havent seen one illidan lock yet - though that might be through good fortune rather than playstyle.

One question I do have, is I was lucky enough to be picked in this latest round of beta tickets, the download requirement is HUGE though. First download was 1.8Gig and second is now just over 1 Gig and unsure if there are any more after that.
Can we upgrade from the Beta to WolK or will we have to go through the whole process again? Anyway..seeyou Beta-side.
Sep 11th 2008 12:35AM Hi Lib,
I hope this gets to you as I guess this is a relatively old post now.
I am really intrigued by the shakeups the hunter class is getting as part of WoLK and am intrigued/jokingly tossing up a possible Surv/BM build.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed through the forums, but I'm actually thinking about a completely different type of gameplay. Ditch the bow and enter the deadzone.
Thats right. Melee.
Now everyone else may poo-poo my idea as idiocy but the build seems to be viable on paper. I.e. speccing for monkey/aspect mastery/intimidation/ armour/stam in BM (27 points) and speccing deep into Surv for all the passive buffs, stam enhancements, avoidance opportunities and trap enhancements (Readiness, PoNE but miss tiers 7/8).
The theory being concentrate on frost trap and melee with minimal focus on the ranged abilities.
Is it viable or just a novelty way to spend some time?
cheers - even if ppl still QQ about this, I think I'l lstill give it a go! A change is as good as a holiday =)
Aug 25th 2008 12:55AM Before I start - great article.
I have mainly played Alliance so an interesting read for me.
Just BTW, have you guys seen the release of all the items data-mined under the latest patch showing all the dungeon stuff at 80 on mmo-champ? I thought you guys would be all over that stuff but unsure of your position of WotLK stuff with Blizzard being so tightlipped about this kind of stuff.
Jun 16th 2008 10:45PM To those contemplating server transfer. I ask you seriously consider what you are doing.
Having spent over a year on Thaur Ally before jumping ship to Dreadmaul, I can say that life is much MUCH better.
Before our guild and I left, the ability to pick up a heroic was almost non-existant on a regular basis, farming was neigh impossible and doing the QD dailies was just as easy. As an officer in our guild, recruitment was very difficult, and if you are transferring your guild I hope you dont expect to pick up many recruits on the new server.
Although an easy in to PvP, think about the advantages you already have (possibly functioning economy, ability to run endgame, do dailies etc) in your current environment and unless you're bringing enough ally to lessen the ratio (I dont know the exact numbers but enough to close the very large gap).
Otherwise take the free transfer and then paid char transfer to an actually functioning PvP server.
I hope it does change for your sake, but I think rolling or transferring to Thaurissan is a big mistake. Unless, like Hatfield, you enjoy the never ending run back to your corpse or endless addying in trade for a group.
It is exactly what it is - a last ditch attempt to save a server in a bad situation.
Jun 9th 2008 7:31PM This may have been answered elsewhere but can anyone answer whether the actual arena points (not PR or TR) are reset in season 4?
It seems illogical to me that they would wipe previously accrued points and would like to settle this long standing disagreement between friends (at least bragging rights).
Apr 28th 2008 1:45AM The best thing for beggars.
Grind for "vial of tears" or "tear stained handkerchief".
Open trade window insert 1500g - get coffee - come back - replace money with said "vial of tears" or "tear stained handkerchief" press trade
Apr 27th 2008 11:34PM I just wanted to add my POV with the rotation debate. For arenas I ditch rotation for maximum burst DPS. Up against any other hunter I seem to come out on top by using the following method.
->initiate autoshot/hunter's mark/petattack macro
->rapid fire/bloodlust brooch/aimed shot/arcane/multi
->steady/arcane/multi to death
Seeing as the attack speed of my wpn is pretty slow (glad Xbow), the amount to stack damage seems awesome. It seems (without critting) to wipe almost 1/2 health of most characters (almost nuke a mage). In arenas its awesome when you can wait until the battle settles then switch targets and whop-o-chang, it seems most healers (in a 1 healer team) can't cope with the sudden burst that will happen to a player not their focus.
I love it (am definately not leet though) and am possibly stuffing up my rotations, but seems to work really well for me.
