Aug 22nd 2011 2:08PM If I'm pugging a 5-man, I'm healing. That means I've set up my UI to best do my job, which is healing you. Reading all 25 delicious characters of your name will not get that heal off any faster and might just distract me so that I miss something important, like you pulling aggro. If I have trouble reading your name in a hurry but can see the color of your nameplate, would you really rather I take the time to squint to read it or get you a heal so you can live?
I thought that might be the case. :P
If I identify you by the color of your nameplate rather than your name, it's nothing personal, I promise, and I'm not trying to objectify you in any way. I'm just trying to communicate as efficiently as possible while still doing my job. :)
Jun 14th 2011 3:21AM If you really want to have a weekend raiding guild, I just don't see a problem setting up an alt raid on Mondays. No one will be locking toons out of the next weekend's run, and presumably anyone on a Monday run didn't get a chance to raid or didn't get a chance to raid on that toon on the weekend runs. Add to it that it's a run that officers wouldn't have to be in charge of? I have trouble seeing the downside. That said, allowing a weekday run Tu-Th sounds like a recipe for trouble.
May 20th 2011 3:18PM I second the section on tanks and healers, and would split my personality to third and fourth it. If a tank dies, I want to know why.
Mar 26th 2011 2:08PM @Shrike:
Boomkin are "insanely fragile" if you expect you're going to sit in one place and cast until your 2+ mobs are dead, sure. You'll have to heal yourself afterwards (which I admit sucks, but we have the mana and spells for it). Have you tried proccing eclipse then strafe kiting while spamming moonfire? Done right, you don't get touched at all. They catch up? use nature's grasp or typhoon to get a couple seconds' lead again.
Feb 26th 2011 1:54AM Agree with cardinal directions being less than helpful! For V&T we put up those nifty new raid beacons--one at the entrance, one at the other side of the room, and then all you have to remember is green, red, or middle.
Feb 24th 2011 6:56PM Last night I kept falling through the elevator. Not past, through. I guess it's my fault for assuming that it would be solid even when in motion. But I guess it helped raid morale to see a naked female dwarf at the bottom of the elevator after our Nth wipe of the night. :P
Feb 18th 2011 1:24PM Someone sounds bitter about a previous breakup.
Jan 14th 2011 1:19PM Buff icons. Surely it wouldn't be hard to offer an option to reposition/resize them?
Jan 12th 2011 7:15PM The minimum for heroics is an average ilevel of 329. If you get your rep up through running regulars (Lost City, Grim Batol, Halls of Origination), between drops and rep rewards your average ilevel should be way over 333. If you jump into heroics the second your ilevel hits 329 and still have a lot of quest greens and no gems or enchants then yeah, it's going to be a lot harder.
Nov 19th 2010 10:39PM Do moonkin have any sort of threat issues at 85? It hurts to get smoked by other casters simply because they have better threat reduction mechanics and don't have to stop casting. If so (or even if not because it'd be fun to play with), I would love to see some sort of threat reduction ability, or even just buffing the threat component of thorns.
