Jun 3rd 2009 9:36AM I read this concept a long time ago back in TBC.
The ability to gear your mounts:
Professions have the ability to create gear for mounts, like head, shoulder and body pieces to show them off more. Plainly used for display and not for stats or fighting.
Professions like blacksmithing could create heavy plate armor and mail to show its ready for battle (again display only). Leather to show battle gear but more flexible and tailoring for formal designs. Jewelcrafting can be used for actual jewels on the items instead of stats. Glyphs could inscribe a magical glyph to show a aura or magical runes around the mount and herbalism to make... wait for it... flowers and vines for the bodywork. engineering to craft weapons like canons to the sides (not keen on this idea since there is no mount combat).
Alchemy and Enchanting are difficult to think of what they could be used for and mining i cannot see what so ever. May be enchanting can enchant the animal to move faster or maybe get a burst in speed when they are hit (sounds nice but would be used for PvP and im not looking at this like that (display only :P)).
Jan 8th 2009 8:23AM My Girlfriend is my GM lol!
Oct 13th 2008 8:37AM EDIT: ***30% less xp required***
Oct 13th 2008 8:33AM 30% xp required to lvl and 30% more xp off mobs (TBC only).
This is also in line with 30% less health on all TBC mobs and reduced dmg on all TBC mobs (including all bosses)(i dont have a % for the dmg).
I am no one special nor a blue so my words are not set in stone but thats the conclusion i have came to in the past weeks.
Sep 25th 2008 8:29AM My first 2 weeks for Beta experience was sitting for 20 mins watching the loading screen then being confronted with a "world server is down" a minute after i do get online.
Your right about the constant insults and crying about lag in the general channel but i was surprised when i asked about the mount quest for DK's in the general channel. I asked how to hand the mount in to the NPC and i was replied to by some very well mannered players explaining how to do it and also was laughing because they needed to do the same thing as me.
Its nice to see that some people are kind and don't use the fact they are on a game to be rude as much as they want.
My overall experience is LAG!, all the time. It never seems to end but that doesn't force me to insult people because of it.
One funny thing i came across too.
Just as the game was won by the Alliance (i play horde) i was killed in the center of the keep. I showed up at a battle healer but it was a dwarf. So i stood for 30 seconds and nothing happened. I decided to go off on a corpse run and see if i could find a horde battle healer. None anywhere so off i went to res myself but of course my corpse was in the keep, i couldn't get in even as a spirit. Thats where i left the beta the other day so i suppose i will still be a spirit the next time.
Was a funny experience yet annoying because i thought they would have a solution to that. But thats what a Beta is for.
Aug 22nd 2008 11:21AM In response to Sallix asking...
"Is there a Fel Reaver/Devilsaur like creature that patrols around and will jump you when you least expect it?"
I came across a giant called "Storm giant". He chased me down for a good distance until i took my screen shot and vanished. I came across him in the south east area of Howling Fjord. He was a skull to me so im guessing it was and 80 elite.
Jun 17th 2008 10:29AM *sighs* Ok guys, these whelps have gave us a lot of trouble in the past......
Jun 16th 2008 8:53AM Yeah sure, the long walks are very painful as a alt or a experienced player but thats what pulled me into the game in the first place. I remember creating my Night elf Warrior and hitting lvl 10, leaving my home and going off on a adventure. I was Traveling down to Ashenvale onto The Barrens.....hey i even made it through to Thousand Needels via Feralas at that lvl. That was the game i wanted to play. Azeroth is so epic in your early days.
For the shamans side of it, yes i would say Eastern Kingdoms is far from home but couldn't there be a Shaman trainer on the same path as you, wanting to go to new places, meet new people?
The only annoyance i have with this game is the lack of instance maps. Why cant you open the map up once you have cleared the place? I find myself pressing "m" to see the Hillsbrad map when i am in Caverns of time. It disappointed me every time.
