Nov 6th 2009 6:04PM A lot of your issues might be due to being undergeared, if you threw on some random pieces and a little bit of badge gear.
Tree form is not for BG healing unless your only concern is for yourself, such as if you're trying to survive against a melee. And even then, the best thing is to root, cyclone, travel form and anything else you can, like bear form and bash. Your goal is not to get hit.
Always keep a HoT on yourself. Always at least one. And don't underestimate the deliciousness of a Lifebloom or two.
Nourish spam can work, but never forget to put HoTs on the target, too. Increased Nourish, ticks from heals, and Lifebloom blooms and Swiftmend clutches are great. I've been able to heal a flag carrier through the 100% damage debuff before.
Watch out for DPS in PvE gear. They will blow you up more than someone in PvP; they're glass cannons but they hurt. Stay away from them, save your trinkets and cooldowns for them, and CC them away from you.
BG healing is a lot more like PvE than arena is. Stay out of tree form to disguise your identity, HoT everyone up, and enjoy.
Jun 30th 2009 12:11AM Not to nitpick, but my blog's title is actually "4Haelz" not Healz. It's a pretty common mistake :x
All the same, thank you for the link love. :)
Jul 1st 2008 9:51AM Sweet guide Bear, Nas. :) Very helpful.
Jun 24th 2008 11:40AM I do like Boar's Speed (though, in all honesty, it does not completely make up for the movement penalty), but it's a very expensive enchant for pre-Kara-just-into-Kara, whereas Vitality is cheaper. Also, in Kara, there are fewer bosses where mobility is such an issue, and getting higher mp5 is a priority when your gear is just making the cut. Therefore, I suggested Vitality :)
Jun 24th 2008 11:36AM Three. You will need more base +healing for just two. About 1300 for the first half of Kara, and 1500 for the second. And you will need to be very on your toes, diligent, and ready for anything. :)
Jun 24th 2008 10:14AM Hmm. I'm definitely sure I put those on the list. Blame Bear!
Anyway, I actually started to heal Karazhan with a couple pieces of Vindicator's/Gladiator's gear, and I still use my Vindicator's Kodohide Belt in BT (haven't been on a ZA run for that Belt). The blue PvP gear wasn't out at that time, but I see plenty of people using it.
PvP gear is good to a point. It has a great amount of stam, so they're good to have around for high-raid damage fights, but they are not the best itemization. If you gem/enchant them for PvE, they are a bit better, but realize you are gimping your spirit with them. Unless you're a feral druid, resilience is a wasted stat.
But an upgrade is an upgrade, so if it's an upgrade, wear it!
Jun 19th 2008 10:30AM Right you are. Belts are a real pain, at least in my experience. I'm sure Bear will catch it in Part II, but there's a blue healing belt in Arc (both normal and heroic) and there's the Belt of the Sage: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30383
I personally use the Vindicator's Kodohide Belt, because nothing better has ever dropped for me. :)
Jun 18th 2008 7:36AM But who wants to do just okay? ;)
Jun 17th 2008 5:25PM You could be right and I could be totally outdated. :)
Jun 17th 2008 5:01PM Techincally, by the time you shift and have the energy to use Cower, you'll be dead.
