Patch 3.1 PTR build 9658 Priest changes {WoW}

Mar 6th 2009 7:03PM They nerfed Viper Sting. We no longer need to dispel it in order to have a hope of living.

Patch 3.1 PTR build 9658 Priest changes {WoW}

Mar 6th 2009 5:00PM I think you are misunderstanding what these changes are. Psychic Horror was pretty much a required thing for Shadow because they were countered too heavily by melee. This MIGHT give them some arena viability, because at the moment they are almost nonexistant in arena.

Body and Soul will not be used in PvP simply because going that deep in holy is not worth it. Discipline is still a MUCH better option for any pvp priest. Expect Body and Soul to never be seen in arena.

Psychic Scream and Divine Hymn share a cooldown, so don't count them both. It's either one or the other to nearly the same effect, and divine hymn has a 5 minute cooldown.

I have no idea what Desparation is.

So here are the PvP escapes for Priests:

Discipline:
-Psychic Scream. That's it.

Shadow:
-Fade
-Psychic Scream
-Psychic Horror
-Dispersion

As you can see shadow has more escapes, but as a caster dps in pvp they need this in order to compete. Compare it to a mage who has blink, sheep, frost nova, frostbolt slow, and iceblock. Just because shadow has a lot of escapes doesn't mean its going to be viable because at the moment it is nonexistant in high end arena play. These new changes are necessary to make the class viable, and by no means make it OP.

Beta Shadow concerns {WoW}

Aug 24th 2008 12:51PM No offense to whoever did ask a beta tester, but when he said priests have barely been touched he was dead wrong. In fact it is exactly the opposite.

In this thread a blue said that "Druids and Priests the most far along in development."

Barrens Chat: Fuzzy Wuzzy was {WoW}

Jul 31st 2008 8:30PM No. I don't find these funny in the slightest. Every week I check them praying that they might by the grace of God entertain me, and every week I am disappointed. Heres to hoping.

Bornakk tries to clarify fair play in Arena PvP {WoW}

Jul 31st 2008 8:20PM People love arena because it takes much more individual skill and strategy than a BG or world PvP. The fun is in learning to work together as a team and being the best that you personally can in order to contribute better to the team. You learn strategies when fighting teams, in the end if you do well you have rewards to prove it. It also offers the most fair and skill appropriate matches for you through the rating system so that you are constantly challenged.

Like you said though, the worst of class balancing really starts to shine. It sucks when you realize that 90% of the top 10 teams are Warrior/Druid or Rogue/Druid and that there is really no way for another team of equal skill to overcome the massive class balancing issues. Even still, it is alot of fun for those who take it seriously.
