Dec 31st 2008 11:54PM The biggest thing I hated about the expansion was the huge increase in the amount of paladins. For those of us who paladins in end games in TBC and succeeded had something to be really proud of. Now it's like everyone and their guilds grandmother is a ret paladin or a DK.
I play as a Ret in my 25 man raids normally, unless it's my turn in the rotation to tank and can throw out DPS comparative with the rest of the raid usually hovering around 2200 and maxing out 3000 if I don't have to conserve mana. Where as rogues, DK's and Hunters with half the gear level I have can easily push 3k and above.
For my 10 mans I'm the MT, and while block capped, def capped and around 34k HP raid buffed. Despites that, a DK with comparative skill is still the best choice. I may block almost 2000 from every hit I take, a deathknight will completely avoid the damage 60% more often than I will, making them much more likable tanks for the healer. Even if they do take damage the spike isn't bad enough that you have to worry.
Dec 31st 2008 11:48PM Ret Paladins really aren't OP at all. We're a heck of alot more squishier compared to DK's are Fury/Arms warriors except when our bubble is on. And if our bubble is own, our damage plummets with the lack of stealable/purgable wings. If you're getting beat by a paladin, it's because he's more skilled than you.
They definitely still need to finalize our mana issues. As prot I'm not too horrible because I'm blockcapped, def capped with 34k raid buffed HP. So Blessing of Sanct keeps me fairly topped off.
As ret however, unless I'm extremely careful or there's enough raid damage to keep me up through Spiritual Attunement, I'm OOM in half a boss fight.
And even if I'm not our DPS compared to a Rogue or DK's (which besides our raids MT I completely despise) is a heck of alot lower in comparative gear. Especially since a DK with half the amount of AP I have, along with maybe a third of the epics I have can match me in a hybrid tanking/DPS spec is ridiculous.
Dec 19th 2008 7:48PM If the Forsaken are former scourge that regained their consciousness as Arthas moved away from Kingdoms continent, and the Lich King started losing power from Illidans attack. Why wouldn't they start to fall back under his influence as the move closer to the source of their original control.
Dec 9th 2008 12:17PM I don't really care for Eva much, but most of the sequence is just the way the original is setup.
Is the original movie it's based off.
Everything else aside, it follows it really well and very well done overall especially since Eva is just one big depression rollercoster on the verge of suicide.
Dec 5th 2008 5:44PM It's assumed he's wearing t8 or t9 warlock gear.
Dec 4th 2008 10:49AM Wow.. thanks for linking to these guys. I'm a food science major with a degree in culinary arts already, and while some of the stuff I'm going WTF about, the rest is really quite awesome.
Nov 29th 2008 9:31AM Hit 80 last week, my first task as a tank was hit the uncrit cap. Which I did a few days ago after running a few instances and hitting revered with Wyrmrest! Now I'm damn well doing something for myself and getting that awesome Red Drake. Other than that continuing to improve my gear and work towards running Naxx and Malygos!
