Jan 31st 2012 3:43PM I have "DRAENEI" as my license plate (custom plates are super cheap in my state) and I very rarely get noticed. I've had two notes left on my car (one "For the Horde!" and one "ohai."), been asked what I play by a driver in the next lane once, and had a young lady pull over to help me out one day when I had the hood up and make a joke about attacking while I was dismounted. I've had the plates about five years.
I noticed more people moving their lips as they read my "Wanted: $10,000 reward - Shroedinger's Cat - Dead and Alive" bumper sticker than I do notice them trying to figure out my plate.
Dec 20th 2011 11:19PM I'd like to hear a little bit about what add-ons you use for this set-up. It's really nice-looking!
Dec 11th 2011 8:29PM I find it intriguing that when you hand in the rare quest drops off bosses, Paleo slips up and says something along the lines of "the maste- I mean, I - would be very interested in these rarities." Somehow, I don't think he's referring to Silas there.
Dec 8th 2011 5:32PM Dalavesta didn't mention the auctions driving up prices of fictional or grey items for RP which went to insane lengths just because people wanted to get involved in this storyline. I - and my guild - have only been tangentially involved, and it's still been an amazing experience. We look forward to being the dark horse (*snicker*) as events continue.
No one expects the Knights of Menethil!
Nov 19th 2011 5:58PM What a wonderful article! We'll definitely be referencing this for some of our newer folks in our guild, the Knights of Menethil on Moon Guard. As far as we know, we are the only 100% death knight only RP guild out there. Does anyone else know of any other guilds across the RP servers which RP as Ebon Blade units? (We'd love to find out about how you guys are doing these days.)
May 26th 2011 5:49PM Destron is a writer who has written so beautifully and empathically about some subjects that I actually cried. And I sniffled a little to know that it was wrapping up. Reading Destron's travels has been a pleasure of mine for years, and I expect I'll go back several times and re-read them.
Apr 17th 2011 9:56PM Another fangirl chiming in with excitement to see my favorite (and only!) perfume purveyor get a mention on my favorite (but not only) WoW blog. In addition to Sacco's point about sample vials, I'd like to also point out the vibrant swap community on their forums if you end up finding that shiny bottle of Half-Elf really isn't your thing.
Apr 15th 2011 11:46AM I've got a very clearly WoW-related, Alliance-biased license plate (custom plates are so cheap in my state that some 40% of drivers have them). For about six months after I got it, I heard nary a peep about it, and then one morning I came out from my apartment to find a piece of paper tucked under my windshield wiper - "For the Horde!" and the Horde symbol, with a hand-drawn smiley face underneath. I was pretty entertained. But even better...
My radiator overheated on a major commuter road and I was on the side of the road with my hood up. Another driver pulled over ahead of me and got out to see if she could help. She explained that she plays Horde on ThoBro, so her first inclination was to gank me while my mount was down, but we WoW ladies should probably stick together. Honestly, best out-of-game WoW experience ever. Lovely lady from ThoBro, I hope you're still doing well. :)
I've also had at least two drivers behind me in traffic work their way up next to me just to honk and ask what class I play (enhancement shaman and blood death knight).
Apr 9th 2011 10:33AM I am exceptionally fond of the draenei racial crest - in fact, so fond of it that I made a piece of jewelry out of it and it was my first adventure in stone-setting. (At 3mm! Never again!) It was featured a year or two ago here on WoW Insider's crafts column, but here's an image link so you don't have to search around:
It's elegant and alien without being too fussy or cluttered. Like the Horde symbol (which is a brilliant piece of design too), it remains open to interpretation instead of forcefully asserting the same image no matter what format it's in (like the lion). I'm an Alliance die-hard and always will be, but the lion is pretty low on the ranking of awesome symbols. The stylized Lordaeron L is much better, even if it isn't really an appropriate symbol for the Alliance.
