Sep 18th 2009 8:21AM Pre-nerf Ignis trash was fun. XT not so much when they had both sides linked together.
Sep 16th 2009 10:12AM I've multiboxed 5 trial accounts and did all 5-mans in the level range, it was awesome :)
Nowadays I usually "only" 2-3 box. It's nice to be able to take an alt through some heroics to get those few last emblems to get an upgrade. Sure, with a group of 5 people it would be much faster but if that alt is a DPS char then the time spent finding a group is probably too long. Also I can keep all the greens to DE :)
Sep 16th 2009 5:47AM I have a fairly high geared priest, IIRC a bit short of 2600 gear score on wow-heroies. As I said earlier in some reply I pulled a bit short of 6.1k dps on new boss in VoA on guild run and was doing ~15-20% less damage than top 5 consisting of locks, dks and feral druid. Only perhaps one lock and dk are slightly better geared than me but difference is minor.
I also have a BM hunter with 2.3k gear score. I did more damage in 25-man normal totc on him than I did on my priest and I'm definitely no hunter expert. Kind of sad to see that my main who I've geared for months, whose spec, gear and casting I've theorycrafted for almost two years together with other people on shadowpriest.com is out-performed by a month-old alt with sub-par spec, relatively bad gear and pretty much zero theorycrafting.
Buffs to twisted faith and imp. ST are nice but they won't increase our DPS by more than 1-2%, if even that. We desperately need our dots to scale with haste. One "easy" solution would be to make them scale with haste as they used to scale with crit in 3.1 (haste% -> flat damage increase for dots). Only problem might be that there are a LOT of procs that increase haste temporarly so with buggy SWP only getting whatever buffs are active on you at time of casting it can be a bit tricky again. Boosting our dots by haste percentage would bring us to same line of others or perhaps a bit higher. If we are too high the it's always possible to reduce base damage of spells. What is certain is that we need our dots to scale with haste in order to scale nearly as good as others. As long as they don't we will be scaling much worse no matter on what gear level. Temporary boosts to some spells will of course bring us on-par to others but they won't help in the long run.
After dot scaling is fixed something should also be done with mind blast, though I'm not sure what. It's supposed to be our main nuke but it has very low cast time and not too high base damage, basically it's not hitting much harder than boomkin main nukes and it scales much worse than their stuff.
Sep 16th 2009 5:25AM I pulled ~6.1k dps on 25-man flame watcher in guild run. I was #13 on damage done and 15-20% below top 5.
Sep 1st 2009 3:07AM I'm not sure how hard was healing the tanks on Brutallus or the burn victims. I think we generally had a paladin and shaman on each tank with one resto druid taking care of the burn victims. For slashes we had two shadowpriests healing their own groups and holy priests with tank-healing shaman chainheals taking care of the rest.
I've healed all the 10-man Ulduar hardmodes and most definitely Firefighter tops them all by far. I haven't healed Algalon but our mainspec healers did say it's quite brutal aswell.
Jun 1st 2009 8:32AM After having tanked all of T7 on my paladin, having healed all of it on disc priest and dps'ed all raids as shadow I'd say tanking can vary from extremely boring to very intense. Majority of bosses have you to just stand there and mash a couple of buttons. There isn't much you can do to make things better. Tank healing is quite boring aswell, just sit there and spam a few spells on him. Raid-healing as disc is just another whack-a-mole, as real aoe healer it wouldn't be much different, just more effective.
As DPS it can also vary from one extreme to the other. You can slack if you want or you can push the limits. Trying to push the limits as DPS on my spriest is probably one of the things that needs most consentration and effort compared to either tanking or healing. On some 1-2 button classes it would certainly be a lot less effort of course.
Long story short, "it depends".
Nov 10th 2008 7:15AM Worth a try :)
Nov 7th 2008 3:06AM You can never know when luck shines for you :)
Oct 15th 2008 4:29AM If I may ask, in what content are you "off the charts"? I remember I was in Kara but from T6 I was steadily dropping behind and now am doing ~1.45k dps when the top 5 do 2-2.5k
Oct 15th 2008 4:27AM I use it. I can solo-heal my group from meteor slashes on Brutallus.
