Jan 4th 2010 1:00PM Odd that it got cut off, but basically:
People are idiots. I'd say less than 10% of the player base actually puts in the research to know their class/spec or into different fights in the game. Somebody with a 5k GS has spent a good amount of time researching the game, while those with a 3k GS likely have not. This game is a learning experience. I've had to learn how to tank/heal/etc in this game, just like everybody else. But I did it with friends that understood that I was learning. It's not fair to the group for somebody to not know the basics. I ran heroic VH last week and the tank didn't know to kite the ethereal and so we wiped. The problem is these people generally don't care; they'll never see anything more difficult than heroic HoR in the game and as such have no incentive to put the effort into bettering themselves as players.
Keep in mind: the raiders won't need to run heroics when they no longer need emblems of frost and then there won't be any uber geared people to drag the others along anymore. It will require skill from everybody in the group, which most likely will not exist.
Jan 4th 2010 12:51PM Wow, I'm surprised so many people are so generous about this. If everybody were like this in real life, we wouldn't have any poverty or disease as every person would sacrifice themselves for the greater good. But anyway....I'm all for helping people gear up. I've geared up a plethora of characters myself and have brought down the group a bit. But the problem I have here is that
Dec 15th 2009 8:18PM Bah, bring out an Android version.
Mar 31st 2009 11:57AM In BC I levelled engineering for the goggles (back when they were OP), so I've never expected a lot from the professsion and still don't, to be honest. But seriously, where are the goggles with spirit/MP5 on them?
Dec 11th 2008 6:18PM While I wouldn't necessarily want to be a jewelcrafter and have to put up with that, I strongly agree with what Blizz has done with blacksmithing.
Right before Wrath dropped (literally a few days) I 70'd a pally that I wanted to be my new main. That pally is now a level 80 tankadin that never saw the inside of a raid instance and as such was working entirely on quest rewards. Considering the gear requirements to break into heroics, easily obtainable gear from a blacksmith is a godsend. Just remember that if tanks can't run heroics, nobody else can either.
Nov 12th 2008 1:35AM My server is still down as well. It generally seems to be one of the last to come up...but this is incredibly late for even this server.
