Breakfast Topic: I love {WoW}

Sep 14th 2009 6:03PM I love the feeling I had when I killed my very first raid boss, Lucifron, for the first time. Our guild was a very small guild of maybe 10 people. We had to sit and spam Ironforge chat (before universal trade channels!) for hours to fill up a 40 man raid! The first time we went into Molten Core, the first two giants wiped us several times over. None of us had ever really raided before. Learning to set up groups, tanks, and healers was a challenge, and then we had to learn how to get every mage, priest, pally, and druid in the raid Decursive! We wiped on him for ages. Soulstones, battle-rez soulstones, and druid-stealth rezzes were king with the damned respawning imps of horribleness.

We finally managed to kill him with nearly half the raid dead or dying, and my sister and I literally leapt up from our chairs, ran down the hallway between our rooms, hugged each other and started dancing and jumping up and down in exhiliration. It was truly epic, and I don't mean the purples that dropped :) No boss has given me that feeling since then.

Also, I love pie.

Breakfast Topic: Which NPCs cause a double take? {WoW}

Sep 8th 2009 2:52PM For anyone that has read Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, there is a questline referencing to it in the quests of Duskwood.

Jitters accidentally unleashes the power of the Scythe of Elune (supposedly), which was in the cave Roland's Doom, summoning the worgen into Duskwood. In his journal, however, he also refers to the "Dark Riders" from Deadwind Pass, who murder Sven's family. In the fifth book of the series, the Wolves of the Calla, the main character (Roland), must help defend the town from the "Wolves" (worgen?), also called "Riders of Thunderclap" (if my memory serves me).

If I remember correctly Roland's Doom in the books refers to Susannah's demonic child, and is actually specifically referenced as such.

I would have dismissed this as pure speculation if only they hadn't named the cave after Roland.

Breakfast Topic: Awesome Animations {WoW}

Mar 29th 2009 5:54AM Gnomish Mecha-tank death in Gnomer. The poor little leper flies so comically high in the air with a great big whoooooaaah!

I know its been mentioned, but female nelf /cower. JAZZ HANDS!! Same with druid tree form.

Eggbert tarding out is just plain adorable.

Not sure if it counts as an animation, but Kael'thas rising into the air, ripping the room to shreds and baring the raid to the twisting nether. Freakin epic the first time you see it. Too bad you have to sit through his monologue to get to it.

Oct 26th 2008 2:57AM The Haunted Memento is a random drop from any of the scourge, even the non-elites. I and my partner both got one just aoe'ing some of the ghouls and ghosts before the shade necromancers appeared.

You get a buff, "Haunted", but once you take a flightpath or port your little wraith goes away :( You have to throw it to someone and get them to throw it back before it comes back.
