Breakfast Topic: A lot of catching up to do {WoW}

Oct 4th 2009 11:59AM I've taken a few small breaks here and there. One longer break was to an Alliance guild on another server. This current break I am on immediately followed a tirade in the guild forums about my frustrations with some of our raiders and how unfocused they can be during raiding. We're a casual guild that raids but with Blizzard simplifying raiding it allows us to stay up to date with content more than in the past. Vent chatter, people not paying attention, unnecesary deaths, 5-10 minute delays between pulls and one very active raid member who just absolutely should not be raiding -she's clueless and impossible to keep alive. I almost refuse to even go on a raid if she is there -but she's always there.

So based on that, I do want to get back into the game but...
1) I feel like eyes are on me for playing the part of blunt outspoken jerk even though I speak up with what many people are feeling...
2) do I want to go back to raiding with some people that frustrate me this much?

I'm tempted to go back to my Alliance toons and find a nice new guild but the grass often just looks greener. I want no part of a hardcore raiding guild. The rules are in place to prevent the things that cause me frustration, but I feel they go a little overboard and take it too far the other way. I've been a member of this Horde guild longer than 99% of the current membership, but I feel like a stranger. The only problem here is that I have family and some other people that I am very close with in the guild.

Officers' Quarters: From the mail bag {WoW}

Sep 28th 2009 4:18PM UGH! I hate comments like this. Half the Horde players I know would say...
"Percentage of servers where Alliance believes it's superior to the Horde: 100%
Number of servers where this is true: less than 50%"

The thing that all these Horde players and Alliance players such as yourself have in common -you think that you are different from each other. Horde and Alliance are very much the same in most aspects. "Blizzard favors Horde -Blizzard favors Alliance... WAHHH"
Both sides have cool players. Both sides have jerks. Both sides have good players. Both sides have poor players.

Even when I hear someone in my guild make a comment like this I'm quick to jump on it. It's the ultimate in making excuses and QQ. On a personal level, I moved to Horde several years ago to escape the nonsense and immaturity of Alliance... but these days I play both and believe me, the grass is pretty brown-green on both sides of the fence.

Scattered Shots: So you want to be a Hunter - Part 4 Levels 21-30 {WoW}

Sep 13th 2009 12:28PM It's ideas like yours that contribute to so many poorly played hunters. Hunters may be easiest class to play but they're still not a simple class to play well and there are still many many hunters who simply don't know what they're doing when it comes to raiding.

Besides, Petopia still rocks!!!!

BlizzCon 2009: Cataclysm race-class combo matrix online {WoW}

Aug 21st 2009 4:39PM I am thrilled and surprised to see that Goblins get to be Shaman, but Gnomes need another class. Tauren and Gnomes were both stunted at 5 classes each. Tauren got two new classes whereas Gnomes only got 1 new class.

I want a Gnome Shaman or Paladin. If Gnomes can be Priests now then Paladins aren't so off the wall.

BlizzCon 2009: What we're bringing {WoW}

Aug 21st 2009 10:17AM Nice insight into blogger personalities, but it's fairly annoying that an Estee Lauder ad was blocking a full 1/4 of each picture. Rolling over it just made it get bigger and clicking close reverted it to the 1/4 size. I've had this happen before with galleries. I understand the need for endorsements to keep the site
free but that placement is kind of annoying.

I'm a big fan of but who's in charge of where those ads get placed?

WoW Rookie: Sharding etiquette {WoW}

Aug 19th 2009 3:35PM I disagree with that method because then you could conceivably have 1 person get every single item. I much prefer the enchanter handing out shards afterwards because then it is more likely for everyone to benefit. Further, if I'm the disenchanter then people who got an upgrade on the run (rolled need) are not eligible for shards.

WoW Rookie: Sharding etiquette {WoW}

Aug 19th 2009 2:50PM An enchanter getting an automatic shard is nothing like a tank getting the frozen orb.

No one would get shards if the enchanter weren't there. Sure they would all get a few gold for selling the item but shards are much harder to come by. Then you have some people that argue that enchanters should get all the shards since it is for their profession... that isn't fair either because everyone needs shards to get their gear enchanted.

I feel kinda crappy if the enchanter DE's all of the BoPs in the run then gets the lowest roll and gets nothing for his effort. Sure, it was not a lot of effort, but technically he could say I don't feel like DE'ing so everyone just greed and vendor it. So whether it is a guild run or a pug, I would roll and then if I got a shard and the DE'er didn't then I would tell him to keep mine.

On the other hand, I have friends in the game of every profession so I generally do not have to pay for enchants or potions or gems as long as I provide the mats. I guess that does not apply to everyone.

WoW Rookie: Sharding etiquette {WoW}

Aug 19th 2009 2:08PM I REALLY like the idea that the enchanter automatically gets a shard regardless. He can roll on the Abyss and get that instead, but otherwise he is guaranteed a shard and everyone else rolls for extra. That seems very fair.

Obviously, in places like regular or Heroic ToC and Raids, he would automatically get an Abyss and everyone else rolls on the extras.

Possible new race/class combinations datamined {WoW}

Aug 18th 2009 4:59PM Why are they no fun?
Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today?

I'm so tired of baseless threats of quitting. Don't moan about it.... Either do it or don't.

Possible new race/class combinations datamined {WoW}

Aug 18th 2009 4:57PM quote "I'm not sure I want to play a game that hands EVERYTHING to me on a silver platter."
First: exagerate much?
Second: If you are unhappy, there is a very simple solution.

The reason people are getting downranked is because Negativity breeds Negativity. There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving people more options. Just because you don't like the changes does not mean they shouldn't be there. You can not take advantage of the changes if you wish, but why rain on other people's parade.

You're also complaining in a thread about new racial class options about how Blizzard is making the game so much easier. These changes do not make the game easier, they just give more options.

So yeah... when you spew ridiculous nonsense about religious incontinuity and complaining that Blizzard is trying to give their player-base options, then I will most happily down rank your post.
