Nov 23rd 2010 6:14PM You Sir have never played a shadowpriest if you say that their rotation is simple.
With the Affliction warlocks, the Shadowpriest have the most complex caster DPS "rotations" (it's more like a priority list) in wich we have 3 DoTs (1 of them with a casting time), 1 chanelled spell, 1 instant nuke and 1 (soon 2) casted nuke to juggle about (plus the Dps CDs and procs we have to manage in order to maximize our damage)
about the "ZOMG we have so many tools to single target heal now" most of the time we will be casting Healing Wave: Healing Surge is only for emergency heals, NS+GHW it's an "Oh f$%&...!!!" button. Greater healing wave it's something we will use when we have the time to cast it and we need something more potent than Healing Wave, Riptide and UW- Earthliving are our "on the move" healing spells when Spiritwalker's grace is on CD, so, as you can see every spell has is utility, and I find that waaaay much more interesting that Just sit there and spam Lesser Healing Wave/Healing Wave until the end of times.
Nov 8th 2010 3:55PM Waht bothers me more than Ventormenta, is the translation for Undercity. It should be something like Subciudad (i know the word does not even exist in spanish, but neither undercity in english) but no, they go an decide to name it Entrañas (Guts in english)
I mean... COME ON!!

Setting the Focus ON the tank
Jun 10th 2010 1:32AM
While reading the comments, I noticed a big trend of advising the use of grid+clique, healbot and vuhdo when leveling a healer.
Against the majority of people here.... I recommend you as a newb healer... DO NOT.
In 5 man content, you can do it very well by using the standard UI, setting the focus no the tank and then pressing f1 to f5 to switch targets, keybind all your healing spells to the keys you think are easier for you to press (in my case, as a druid healer, i have: Nourish=1, Regrowth=2 Rejuv=3 Nature's swiftness+Healing touch macro=4 Healing touch =5 Swiftmend =6 wild growht =7) also, keep active the option to see the debuffs in your party portraits, in order to throw a dispel/decurse/depoison/cure disease, when needed. If it's easier for you, set the "show percentages in health bars" on.
Leveling as a healer this way, will give you agile fingers, and faster game reflexes than just hovering over a target and click to heal all at the same time. Plus, when you finally get some of the above mentioned add ons, your healing will be far better that the one of a healer who leveled 1-80 using those add ons.
Of course, my advice it's only for leveling healers, in raiding and arena enviroment, It's almost a MUST, having a special raid UI. Personally, I use grid only (without clique) i'm still the kind of healer that clicks on a target in grid and press an actual key to cast a healing spell.

While I like the moonkin form, and at the begginning I was one of the first to mourn the death of the Tree of life form I have to disagree with you in doing all the druid forms as Cooldowns, lets see why:
Bear Form: Completely different set of abilities and a different resource (rage like a warrior) it allows the druid to tank and seals off all its casting abilities. Cannot cast any spell.
Cat Form: Another completely different set of abilities. Another type of resource (energy and combo points, like a rogue) allows the druid to melee DPS. Cannot cast any spell
Flight, Acuatic, and travel form: Insta moving faster through land, water and skies?? yes, please. No need for a flying mount?? Yes please, Increased swimming speed?? Yes please. all of those things tied to just 30 seconds or so?? NO WAY
Tree of life form: Same resource than normal humanoid form, (mana) Increased healing.. just to be on par with the other healing classes and specs. Aura of increased healing at the party (could be baked onto a talent), Increased armor (only if talented) oh look, Now I can't cast any offensive spell, plus, If i'm not in tree form, my healing output it's lower than the other healing classes!! ummm..... yay??
Moonkin Form: Increased armor (refer to the article's survivality issues balance has in pvp), Raid buff (now shared with shammies and pallies) same resource as normal humanoid form (mana again), regain mana through single targeted spell crits cannot cast healing spells... funny dance.
As you can see, There's no way of turning bear and cat into a cooldown without affecting feral in such a deep way that it should stop calling itself feral and all our bear and cat brothers should relear how to play.
Moonkin form and tree of life form can have all their benefits baked onto talents of their respective specs and we should not notice the difference, actually, it could add a more complexity to our very simple rotation of spells, by adding a bursting DPS cooldown to balance druids, could be a defensive/offensive cd that allows us to crit 100% of time (as if we did not do that already), or a simple flat increase to our dmg during 15 seconds or so, could be that it allows starfall to have no cooldown or reset the starfall cooldown, or... you get the idea.
I agree with Mr. Caraway that right now, moonkn forrm has very little to offer hoping that if blizz plans to keep it, could listen some of the ideas the layr base is giving ( loved the idea of increased eclipse filling bar through crits during moonkin form)
Feb 19th 2010 8:43AM I have to say that i am more than happy to finally have a shadowpriest columnist in wow.com, i have rolled a shadowpriest since 3 years ago, when shadowpriest was not even a suitable choice or wasnt even consider playable in the end of the game, but i always think it was the coolest thing to play and also it always have been fun, i think thats the only reason i had for playing it, its very funny .A shadowpriest is full of fancy and enjoyable spells and rocks in pvp, but unfortunately that was all we had for a long time, today with all the changes we have past shadowpriest is what it is supposed to be, a decent damage dealer and and a pj that provides lots of benefits to the party and yes i think we have one of the most difficult rotation in the game because yes it isnt really a rotation, is a initial rotation followed by a stressful and demanding cooldown's sequence and thats there is the fun we never get bored.
Well in pvp shadowpriest are fearable as allways
I dont have nothing to complain about mister Fox article, is perfect, i just to have to add that glyph of dispersion is a better choice for glyphing instead of swp is more useful to have the dispersion avaiable more often and in a raid situation it can save ur life in plenty of fights and also helps keeping ur mana up and avoids drinking at all.
Please keep doing the great job u are doing and corrupting people each day is our mision in the darkness :D

As the article says about Balance of power, if you are above the hit cap, then you try to replace the hit gear BEFORE dropping points from Balance of power. The reason I think is the 6% less damage you take from spells, wich in fights with heavy magic dmg could mean the difference between a Doomkin and a roasted/frosted chicken.
Jan 3rd 2010 1:04PM @Erines.
The Lore retcon regarding the Draenei and Eredar, is canonic and valid because Blizzard says so. basically Blizz is saying, "hey you guys remember what we told you about the eredar and sargeras at first??' well... forget about it!!!! now the story goes this way." So your point about the RTS games's lore is null, because Blizzard wanted it that way. Get over it, and accept it.
Worse than being racist in a game, is being racist in real life. Your comparison Earth = Mexico, Azeroth = US so humans should be deported back to Earth sounds racist, and disgusting.
Personally, I don't like any of the Alliance races (except dwarves, they're cool) each of the other races has some degree of responsiblity in bringing pain and suffering to Outlands and Azeroth due to their own choices, as a race, nation or individuals:
from less to worse:
* Gnomes: Basically, they commited genocidal suicide blowing up their own city.
* Humans:The mages of Dalaran were those who weakened again the Veil between the Nether and Azeroth, even when the High Elves told them to be cautious with the use of the Arcane Magic, that takes us to the Council of Tirisfal (wich I think was a good Idea) and to Aegwyn, who is one of my fav characters and I love her, but she was not very smart when she decided to go up and try to defeat Sargeras... we all know what happened later: Medivh, the opening of the Dark Portal, etc etc... As if that were not enough, instead of staying together after the victory of the Second War, they splitted again, Leaving Lordaeron alone to the attack of the plague (not even the mages of Dalaran helped a little to prevent it) who was the person who led the fall of Lordaeron?? its very own heir prince... hence... who created the Scourge and the Forsaken?? the former members of the Alliance who refused to help Lordaeron when the plague began.
*Night Elves: They were the first to draw the Burning Legion to Azeroth. Period. and their Idea of saving the world form destruction basically consist in blowing things... little things such as Wells of Eternity and World Trees. (don't try this at home unless you want to cause World Sunderings and Loss of inmortality)
*Draenei: The Light Loving cousins of the Eredar... who escaped from Draenor and smashed to Azeroth, causing some sort of Chernobyl in Azure an Redmist islands... I can't undertand why the NElves are so upset about some chopped trees, but seems to be okay with the massive mutation of an ecosystem closer to their current homeland than Ashenvale, and furthermore, ally with the responsibles of that mess. Plus, if the Draenei had not fled to Draenor first place, Kil'jaeden had never looked up at the Orcs, and they should still be living shamanistic in a lush, beautiful PLANET.
Horde has it's flaws too, but for me, the Alliance races seems to be Behind every single cathastrophe in Azeroth and outlands
The Alliance was a response for the Horde?? yes, but were the Alliance races with their actions who created and shaped the Horde, in more than one way.
