WoW, Casually: A casual Midsummer {WoW}

Jun 26th 2008 10:01PM You actually don't need a raid to get the other faction's capitals, at least not if you have anything to help you be sneaky about it...I guess some classes will have more trouble than others. If you're a rogue, though, obviously some careful stealth will get you through (Blizz is good about none of the mobs near the flame attacking you) and I find that for hunters, a combination of Aspect of the Beast and FD works well. The method's not perfect, but nothing is.

Breakfast Topic: Stupid mistakes {WoW}

May 24th 2008 11:28AM Most boneheaded thing I've ever done...on my first run of Sunken Temple, we were not quite into the instance itself when this first happened. We were out in that room with the three levels, fighting one of the first trash mobs in there, when I back up to get into range against an add...and fall right off the edge of the upper-most level.

I actually managed to survive this--by great good fortune I landed in a spot slightly too far away from other mobs to be aggroed to--but there were some tense moments. I even managed to get back to the group without dying, using some sort of combination of tracking, pet aggro, traps, pet dismissal, Monkey Aspect, FD, and luck, but still...

Overhauling the engine {WoW}

May 17th 2008 9:48AM Personally, I love the feel of WoW just the way it is--like the OP said, it could have more character customization and small stuff like that, but it's not exactly a huge issue. And personally I think that the WORLD of World of Warcraft is far more immerssive, inspiring, and beautiful than all of the "realistic" MMOs I've seen and played. I think it's sort of like trying to approach the speed of light with an accelerated particle: when the games get super, super realistic, the mere fact that they come so close to reality begins to draw attention to the hideous flaws, over-attention to detail, etc. With WoW, I can play it, enjoy it, remember it's a game, and still appreciate the world Blizzard created as a sort of work of art in itself.

Ever surprise yourself? {WoW}

Apr 30th 2008 4:40PM I've not had that experience in WoW, but in real life, sure...

2.4.2 Hunter Changes: Aspect of the Viper, Growl, and the boar's last stand {WoW}

Apr 25th 2008 6:32PM The only question I have here is about the vid--doesn't it seem like she isn't proving anything about the DURABILITY of hunters? Just a thought, but she seems to kill both of those mobs in about 20 seconds (which is great), but what about aggro management in longer battles?
