Nov 3rd 2011 7:01PM We are the Misfits! Our songs are better! We are the Misfits! We're gonna get her! JEM!
Ah, my childhood.
Deep dark secret: I actually have the 1st and 2nd full seasons of Jem on DVD, and I still watch them, particularly on sick days. ;)
Oct 12th 2011 9:05PM Interesting new name. Hope it is a foreshadowing of great things for Wurm!! :)
Jun 30th 2011 8:51PM Good stuff. Despite the new hotness that's out today and what most people are looking forward to *cough*SWTOR*cough, I'm having a ton of fun in Wurm, Guild Wars, and City of Heroes lately, all games that are way old.
Once you get past the graphics being not quite up to par with current standards, they're actually really fun and the communities are excellent.
Jun 9th 2011 1:48PM Take out the permadeath and/or the PKs and I'd be interested.
I like how a lot of these new indie MMOs are all "We're gonna be OLD SKOOL HARDCOREZ!" and feature PKs and permadeath. Thing is, I'd really enjoy some more difficult play; the dungeon design for this game sounds amazing and I'd like to see a real exploration-focused MMO, one where the world is a WORLD and not a glorified dungeon waiting room.
But good luck to them, I hope they succeed.
May 25th 2011 2:47PM I'll be honest, I canceled my 6-month sub in Rift, simply because it strikes me as yet another "kill, kill, kill, quest, quest, quest" game. As much as I love Trion's business practices, I just don't find Rift itself to be that extraordinary right now.
Now if they added player housing, guild halls, and the like? I'd be back in a new york minute. That's the kind of thing that pulls me into a world and lets me as a player have some creativity and impact on the game world. There are LOTS of other players like me who are currently playing EQ2 and/or LotRO because they provide these features and are our only option for that sort of gameplay.
We've seen Trion be amazing... now they have a chance to be a hero.
May 16th 2011 11:13PM You know, permadeath & open PvP are typically a big red flag for me, but I'm so intrigued by the setting and the sandbox that I might give the game a shot anyway.
I REALLY wish that these sandbox developers would learn to release PvE servers. Not all sandbox-lovers are fans of open PvP.
May 13th 2011 6:39PM If they add some sandbox elements, I'll likely be back to Rift in a heartbeat. Right now I'm playing LotRO because of the story & the fact that it HAS some sandbox stuff, but if Rift added that stuff as well... I'd have to give it another go.
Props to Rift for getting on board with player empowerment, something that the 800 lb. gorilla in the room can't seem to grasp.
May 10th 2011 10:09PM I'm not hating on WoW, I'm really not. I played it for 6 years and had a blast, and that's something that I can't say about any other game. But... I'm several months WoW-sober right now (ha!) and I really don't see myself going back. There's just not enough innovation on the part of the dev team, I hated the new linearity and phasing, and I finally got to the point where if I had to grind one more iLvl of gear I was going to throw my computer out the window.
These days I'm playing games with dynamic content and sandbox elements. Give me player housing, world events, appearance tabs, in-depth crafting, ways to have open-ended, non-combat oriented fun. Don't just stick players on rails... give us choices! Choices are good!
Blizzard has long been the invincible giant, but these days they're feeling more like a lumbering oaf that's falling more and more behind his faster and more agile peers. That's a shame, because Azeroth deserves far better than that.

Such Insolence! Such Arrogance!
May 5th 2011 9:01AM Yep, got into Wurm Online after seeing Beau, Shawn, & others talk about it so much. Awesome game.
Also tried EVE Online this week as well. It's a great game and CCP has done something very cool with it, but it's not really my cup o' tea. Spaceships leave me feeling a bit "meh".
