Jun 2nd 2008 4:58PM I've always seen it as Blizz giving the right to test their newest and most high-profile content to people they feel are trustworthy and resourceful enough to provide worthwhile feedback while supposedly keeping things on the down-low.
So to me, it's less "they're privileged" and more "trusted more by Blizzard than the average WoW player."
May 19th 2008 9:20AM Though I've been a console gamer since my youth starting with the SNES, I never really got into PC gaming until my cousin showed me WCIII. I loved it and was hooked on the hero system in particular. He then let me borrow his copy of WCII, which I played extensively until I got a computer that could actually play WCIII, which I promptly got all my friends addicted to. A few years later one of my returned the favor when he introduced me to WoW, a little while before ZG was released (mid - late '05?), and I've been playing ever since. (Still play consoles too, and only recently have I started doing any D&D, though I have been playing some card games for a long time as well)
May 14th 2008 1:09AM Yup, noticed that too. Logged onto my BE Rogue, and after I had five minutes to focus on something other than the annoying allies on the roof of the staging area griefing people, I finally noticed it.
I died a little on the inside.
The orcs are supposed to be the ones stealth-waddling, dammit!
May 13th 2008 12:52PM Get my 45 resto Shaman to 70 and start doing raids.
May 1st 2008 11:19PM Also, it's the same icon as the Warrior move Whirlwind, among others, which lends credence to my earlier statement. Not sure why they would choose that icon for Auto Shot.
May 1st 2008 11:12PM I think that was also the icon for the Blademaster hero from Warcraft 3's move Whirlwind, or something along those lines. There appears to be a sword standing upright, and the blue flash on the side and the other "swords" are the afterimage of the Whirlwind (or whatever) move, created due to the Blademaster's blinding speed or something like that. Never really got what the ring was though.
