One Shots: More loot than they bargained for {Massively}

Oct 28th 2008 2:23PM WTF? Those are my rl friends/guildies.

How unexpected.

Maelstrom Weapon, Predatory Instincts tooltips incorrect {WoW}

Oct 16th 2008 6:28PM Predatory Instincts only reduces AoE damage in cat form. It no longer reduces it in bear form because bears became the go-to tank for AoE fights (I've heard Malygos and Sartharion both use AoE and/or cone-based attacks, which this previously affected.)

Addon Spotlight: Curse Client updater {WoW}

Oct 14th 2008 2:06PM FYI: A lot of addon authors are pulling their addons from WoWMatrix. It doesn't properly credit the authors, provide links to the addon itself so the authors can properly support it, steals bandwidth, and uses ads to profit off others' works.

Read all about it here:

Who's who at BlizzCon: WoW Insider's guide to the staff of Blizzard {WoW}

Oct 8th 2008 2:59PM It's more likely that Kisirani is Caydiem, as she even frequently answers to the name Caydiem, as evidenced by a recent post about the Talk-Like-A-Pirate Day mini-event. (Check WoWWiki for that.)

I believe it more likely (not definitely, just likely) that Ghostcrawler is actually male. Several European blue posters have called GC "he" and "him" (Presumably they're not in on the fact that US blue posters have begun spreading confusion about his/her sex.) Zarhym and Crygil both have also called GC "he", then quickly gone back and edited their posts, adding gender neutral nouns instead (i.e., person/they).

GC has made it a point not to say one way or the other, and has pointed out this fact on a few occasions. He/she has never indicated one way or another. However, devs have noted recently that they're frequently in contact with top-end guilds and arena teams to take their opinions on game balance and discuss ideas. (Not stuff like 'do you like this?' More like 'if we made this change, how would it affect you?') Some of these types of people (none have directly claimed to have been contacted by Blizzard devs, I think they like to keep that under the table) such as members of Curse, Nihilum, and Elitist Jerks, HAVE referred to GC as 'she'. So if they've been in direct contact with the development team, they might actually know. Unfortunately, no one will admit to such. They could just be going along with the crowd who may have just assumed GC was female.

It's an interesting conundrum either way. But GC's almost certainly not Caydiem. (I think he/she is probably just a dev no one is familiar with who decided to take a chance on the forums and enjoyed it.)

Breakfast Topic: BlizzCon swag {WoW}

Aug 4th 2008 8:40AM I dunno about swag, but if I could design a special event in-game pet, I'd make a tiny Ragnaros that followed the player around on a little fiery cloud. Every once in a while he'd swing his hammer around and say "BY FIRE BE PURGED!" in a tiny little voice, and when you summon him he could be like "TOO SOON!"

It'd be so cute.

Forum post of the day: Doomsprocket's Dilemma {WoW}

Jun 30th 2008 5:11AM Actually, if you read the thread, a blue poster says using the Wiimote sounds like a good idea.

WoW Rookie: Pre-Burning Crusade endgame reputations {WoW}

May 6th 2008 4:35PM Yeah, the facts, spelling, and grammar of this post are pretty atrocious. The spelling and grammar could have been easily fixed with proofreading. "Engame" reputations, for example. Also, "Coins are not bind-on-pick-up items and in the heyday of pre-BC raiding they were often sold at auction prior to the burning crusade." This sentence is horribly redundant. I hate to be nitpicky, but usually the quality of articles on this site is higher than this. I mean, you don't know the lore behind the Hydraxian Waterlords? There's a perfectly good database of lore and game information that WoWInsider frequently links to in the form of WoWWiki, look it up there.
