May 19th 2008 8:54AM i used to play AD&D back in the day but the "spark" that made me interested in WoW was a MUD called Duris - Land of Bloodlust.
It was a damn hard MUD to play which was full pvp.. meaning you could kill anyone.. your side or the other :) was wicked fun but it so much more hardcore than WoW.
* lootable corpses on pvp.. and i mean everything!
* lose exp on getting killed, and gained exp on making a kill. adds a new spin to griefing :)
but we all played it and had a damn good time. couldn't imagine going back though.. i like pretty images now!
May 16th 2008 8:12AM my fave old-school memory would be that legendary griefer/ganker rogue Angwe (used to be on Dethecus) that used to camp nubs at Menethil.
He had a level 1 ally alt that he multiplayed on the same server so he could see the whines and moans of the nubs that went down.
He had a site once upon a time with various tells to his alt char that had me in stitches... damn people got worked up :)
anyway, i'd kill to see those chat logs again but the site has long since gone.
May 7th 2008 8:25AM i just wish they did a pure CGI movie like the cinematic trailers.... otherwise it's just gonna be some 1/2 arsed lotr copy.
those cinematics are perfect.. i just wouldn't change something that rocked.
