Jul 7th 2008 1:47AM I have really considered a RP toon for a slower pace and to actually see the land I have blown through in the last 4 toons.
I know alot of time and energy has been spent on this game, and I whine alot at 70 for all the same reasons others do, but I think a RP toon would let me leisurely wander the lands looking for all the stories there.
i have been considering a priest (since monk or bard [i know the joke]) isnt a class. I was thinking of one that roamed and studied and wrote of her adventures. No real tragedies either, just one that wants to see whats over the next hill . . .
. . . but all the RP servers ive seen so far are just like pvp ones in the major towns. What do I look for in choosing a server for RP'ing?
I see you noted Narrator or Gamemaster's, how do they fit in the guild structure and a players RP experience?
lots of questions here mostly from reading all the RP articles lately.
Jun 2nd 2008 11:15AM Well I'm just a casual raider. I've only gotten into TK/SSC on my hunter, so I didn't know.
Does your screen turn upside down? I will have to find a vid of that today . . .
Jun 2nd 2008 10:55AM I've never seen that room, but their is something really wrong with it. Its not just a torture room, but some sort of evil is there, the gravity is split in that room.
Check out the two on the right . . . I'm not saving any of them. Now fighting a boss that can turn 1/2 your raid party upside down would freak out the raid group for sure!
Random party loss of gravity = ftl4sure
. . . but would be oh so cool to play!

What can I say, I'm old.
Then the natural progression:
DD/ Diablo / Diablo II / Starcraft / Tourment / Baldur's Gate II / a brief stop into Neverwind to lvl 6 / then Warcraft
May 9th 2008 8:57PM so much for Fury, Arms and Ret Pallys - gg bliz . . .
I can see DK only raids from day one. just switch your runes and you have all the classes you need save maybe one healer.
For that matter, i see Dk only guilds.
May 9th 2008 7:58PM tehir is really only one reason 25 man will die out doing this - the number of loot items dropped is just at most dbl that of a 5 man, but you have 20 more ppl.
If Bliz drops a proportional AMOUNT of loot for 25 mans instead of teh crappy number in TBC it will be worth running and not just farming 10 mans for marks.
This was always my biggest gripe of the 25 mans. 25 ppl and 4 drops of marks for 3 classes to roll on - what a crock! So 25 ppl enter, a max of 3 get to walk away with a dropped mark to go turn in for loot.
Pardon me, but I love seeing teh loot drop OFF the boss and not have to go to town to tell an npc, " Um hey, I got this mark thing off Grulls and was told to come see you . . ."
Its much more fun to hear, "WOAH! check this out!" from the master looter as he tortures teh raid group.
And what is with the cheap way of combining class on marks anything but lazy programming on Bliz' part . . .
Wanna make 25 man worth running? Make the item drop number be proportional to the group and make teh actual loot drop, not a token rolled on for 3 classes, then you will have ppl really building 25 man raids for actual raiding.
May 9th 2008 6:40PM I always wished for more 5 and 10 man, hard or not, but hard gives smaller, but dedicated players something to work at just like the large 25 man guilds.
There will always be, and should be, a gear difference in 5, 10 and 25 man content, but until they outlaw FRAPS, Im going to see it anyway, so the idea its needs to be earned to see it is not really a strong foot to stand on.
Gear, rep and honor for it, sure, I think 25 mans need to have their accomplishments noted.
. . . and pls, PLS stop recoloring the paper doll gear . . . I'm a pally, NOT a warrior . . .
I use wisdom after all - even as prot. (jsut a joke btw to wars.)
May 9th 2008 6:06PM its not a hard issue to address. its been done albeit for different ways before, but make dungeons ?sectionable? like, well a dungeon.
Stroll the halls and main ballrooms as a 10 man, but leave back rooms and locked doors for only "raiding 25 man content."
For us that cant get into 25 mans for real life reasons of time and jobs, let us look down into that content WILE A 25 MAN group is battling it.
I know, its on servers and separated out for each encounter, but there are many "cut scene" fights in dungeons we can watch before an encounter - most notably, Opera. So make a scripted or recorded fight we can watch from a ledge or balcony if we wish to sit and soak up the scenery. Let it be our reward besides the badges and drops for beating a certain boss(s).
I don't want to get 25 man items w/o fighting in a 25 man raid, but seeing teh bosses and lore would be great. Let us have a break between boss zones so we can see what a 25 man fight would be like but not participate in it.
just a thought . . .
