Aug 22nd 2008 10:39AM I completely agree. The presentation was flawless, the animation was incredible, the detail was flawless...
It was also boring as hell. Outside of the badass dragon (which I enjoyed very much), I could have fallen asleep on this. At least with BC you got cameos of all the classes in their new higher level capacities, you got 2 new races and absolutely stunning introductory sequences for them.
I see WOTLK as being WOW's death cry. And frankly after all the money they've made ignoring us and they come out with this pathetic excuse of an expansion, yeah, it's safe to say the majority of us are quite UNDERwhelmed.
Warhammer is where I'm going.
Aug 22nd 2008 9:30AM I see a lot of encouraging comments here, and I'd like to first say that I wish I had the opportunity to raid with even half of you. I'm on what I perceive as a very stuck-up server, no recruiting consideration unless you meet their strict specifications (speced just so, geared just so), Exhalted in Scryer/Aldor, etc. I'm so sick of these guilds acting like they have the only game in town and if you aren't already loaded up, they won't even acknowledge you. They want you spewing out of the uterus in full T6 ready to be part of the machine.
My question is this: what advice can you share that would help pull a reasonably good guild together that can address the needs of both those whom are geared and those whom are yet to be geared without making the ones who need the help feel like they are being punished?
Second question: How do you get around these snobbish clique guilds to where the real people are? (You know, the guilds that love to dominate the game and grief those whom they deem unworthy of fun?)
Honestly, has WoW just become just another virtual room full of pricks, like Ultima Online?

May 9th 2008 11:53AM I just got off the phone with Sandra #47020 with Sony Computer Entertainment of America regarding the continuing lockup/freeze issues being experienced across consoles. She actually had a few interesting things to say, which I will relate here. I will be addressing specifically the PS3 version of GTA 4.
Sandra told me first off that Sony, Rockstar and Take-Two are all fully aware of the existence of the problem. She also confirmed that indeed, there is nothing wrong with my console (60 GB Release model), as a few quick questions regarding its functionality revealed that the problem is not with the hardware. This is confirmed, per Sandra #47020 of SCEA.
Are you with me so far? Great. There's more.
Sandra also indicated matter-of-factly that although they are acutely aware there is a problem, because almost NOBODY is calling SCEA (Sony) to report it, they still haven't definitively identified the source of the problem. Everyone is calling Rockstar and Take-Two screaming for blood when they need to be calling Sony and giving them the details. She indicated the quicker more console owners start opening trouble tickets, the quicker Sony will be able to narrow the problem down to the source. You can quote her on that too. She indicated that they understand our frustration, but that until it's properly reported to the right people, speculation will continue to run amuk and it will just take them longer to identify the problem and put out a fix.
So here it is folks, everyone needs to call SCEA (Sony) at 1-866-345-7669 and report the problem to the Technical Support Department immediately, if you haven't already. They are anxiously awaiting our calls, and after learning all of this, I completely understand their frustration as well. They want to help, but they need us to REPORT THE PROBLEM DIRECTLY TO SONY so they can get a fix out quicker. I want to experience this game just the same as everyone else.
To the XBox360 owners who are also experiencing problems, I'm sorry I can't address your particular issues, but I would strongly urge you to call Microsoft and report it, as I suspect that they are probably experiencing the same problem.
May 7th 2008 7:47PM I exchanged the game a 4th time (for Special Edition this time around) and I installed 1.01 today just a few moments ago. Three tries to get the game to run more than 20 seconds or so before the video freezes and the audio continues on in the background and I was unsuccessful. The patch did nothing for me. Rockstar/Take-Two/Sony, please fix this continuing crash problem with your universally acclaimed beloved cash cow. Some of us would like to be able to play the game instead of watching recordings of it on YouTube. Patch 1.01. Waiting anxiously (and none too patiently, I might add) for 1.02. Address the critical stop before the minor inconvenience = sucking up opportunities, thank you ever so much. PS3 60GB Release Model. (And honestly, up until now, I've never ever had a single problem with my PS3)
