Mar 12th 2009 8:29AM What was Volition's QA team before the cuts? Judging by the quality of the Saints Row 2 PC port a fair bet would be 10 drunk monkeys and a flaming pile of tires. Really, any game which fails to run smoothly on its lowest visual quality settings on a PC which exceeds the games recommended specs is poorly coded. And this is after a patch which claims to increase performance by 20%.
May 7th 2008 6:01AM Reverse engineering, regardless of whether or not it is for profit is completely legal. Unless the individual happens to circumvent a security measure which is intended to prevent access to a copyrighted material, in which case it would be a DMCA violation.
Blizzard doesn't have a leg to stand on with the copyright infringement claims. Wowglider, while allowing players to violate the ToS, is still legal to own and use.
If Blizzard want to stop people using wowglider, then they need to identify and permanently ban players using it and widely publicise their actions. Only idiots are going to use glider if they have a good chance of losing their accounts. However this is much harder and Blizzard always has been eager to send in the lawyers (bnetd).
