Feb 14th 2011 8:24PM I think what Mr. Zeschuk is saying is that WoW is the bar. To deviate to far from the bar is to court disaster. Blizzard has set the standard to which all MMO's are going to be judged against. You can say whatever you want about other MMO's, each having their own merits, but none to this date have surpassed the standard and Mr Zeschuk is acknowledging that Blizzard and WoW are the standard.
I think Bioware is on the right track, they have a solid intelectual property base in the Star Wars Universe, the question is can they capitalize on that? If this game has the same playability as their other games such as Mass Effect, and Knights of the Old Republic, we could be witnessing a true challenger to Blizzards domination in the MMO Realm. I would also add that Bioware is also responsible for several RPG's that people have somewhat forgotten such as Baldur's Gate, and Neverwinter Nights, which were considered some of the best RPG's ever released for PC.
I look forward to The Old Repuplic, and hope that it has what it takes to earn my $15 a month.
Jan 29th 2010 4:10PM I am surprised that Eternal Belt Buckles aren't listed, every class can use them, and they are cheap to make. I am making a fortune off buckles on Anvilmar.
Jan 2nd 2009 9:37AM Nothing bothers me more than fighting for gear in a 10 or 25 man raid. We have a fair amount of Plate wearing mouth breathers in my guild, me being one of them, who are constantly fighting over DPS plate. I get excited over Hunter mail because it has the stats I want. Str, Agi, Int, Crit, AP... if they made plate like that for us sometimes that would be nice. Why can't the t7 sets have Int?
And those who complain of being OOM, during 10 man OS last night I never ran out during any of the boss fights. Between JoW, Divine Plea, and being healed due to using Martyr as my seal of choice. At most I get down to about 1.4K mana pop divine plea and spam JoW and I am back up to 3 - 4K in less than 30 seconds all while maintaining DPS and this is while spamming Consecrate, Divine Storm, Crusader Strike, judgements of the wise and light, depending on the fight, exorcism, divine wrath, and hammer of wrath. Throw in Avenging Wrath every 2 minutes during a boss fight. Mana management is having to use all your abilities to ensure that you stay in the fight. Having a higher Crit level helps too when using judgments gotta keep that mana replenishment up as well. And really if you need mana make sure you spend those points in Divine Intellect. That made a difference.
Dec 15th 2008 2:31PM This is indicative of the maturity level of some of the people in this game. When I make stuff for people I always make sure that they get what they ask for. If an Item is BOP then I don't make it and don't accept the mats. Chances are I have other items I can make for the person and they go away happy and I feel I earned the tip. This guy was purely taking advantage of the situation.
On the otherhand the guy who was getting the item made should also pay attention to what he is asking for. I get asked time and time again for items that are BoP and my answer is starting to get to the point of Learn to read...
It maybe annoying but it doesn't justify ripping the guy off.
Dec 9th 2008 8:58AM I would love to see more Paladin Librams, that aren't tied to PvP. Resilience is useless to me in a Raid. I have a feeling that I am going to be stuck with my Libram of Divine Judgement for a while yet.
Jul 10th 2008 3:50PM I love my Stormherald. Though my guild needed a tank, so I have put my huge hammer aside and re-spec'd as prot. I had no problem in Kara as a Ret Pally. Makes doing the curator a breeze. I was hitting him damn hard. Crusader strike and Seal of Command proc right after, thats alot of damage.
May 12th 2008 9:20AM After reading the persons email, a few things come to mind. However without knowing the hardware spec's of this persons machine it may very well be in need of some upgrading.
My suggeation is uninstall either AVG or Avast, both are very capable AV solutions by them selves but will conflict with each other if they are both running at the same time.
Secondly run a defrag on your computer, performance gains are to be made by running that over night.
Drivers, especially video drivers can make a world of difference in performance.
An obscure but surprisingly relevant. Make sure that your fan and heatsync on your CPU are clean and free of dust. Newer generations of Intel cpu's will slow down if they are getting excessively hot, the CPU will clock down automatically to save it's self from being damaged. This will reduce performance dramatically. Seen it happen many times.
And as a final and kind of last straw, format and re-install windows. Sometimes a clean install of everything is just what is needed. Personally I try to do a fresh install at least once a year if not every 6 months.
