Nov 14th 2010 1:39AM A few simple quests get added and you call it "Epic"?
GOD YOU PEOPLE ARE NERDS.
Aug 8th 2010 7:18PM @dalroi regarding no 3 its one person lagging behind. Apparently doing nothing at all, maybe replying to whispers or talking in gchat. So you're saying that the group shouldn't expect to progress in a timely manner, that the one player lagging behind isn't responsible at all for keeping an eye on their surroundings or what patrols may be headed their way? If 3 other players are keeping up it isn't unreasonable to expect that the 4th should keep up too. I'll enter an instance with an expectation that none of the players will stand their doing nothing, that they will tell the group if they need to stop for a moment. How is that unreasonable?
What I'm referring to about the healing was at a boss, not while dashing ahead as you've assumed. The healer is usually 10 yards away. No reason at all why they aren't healing, but they still just sit there. I've had someone actually *complain* afterwards because he was talking to his aunt and that I should be real tank and not take damage.
Like I said, entitlement isn't exclusive to tanks. Being there for the group isn't just the tanks responsibility, its everyones, and keeping 4 other players waiting or almost dying while you talk to someone is rude and selfish.
Aug 6th 2010 11:25PM A rogue once blamed me because he died while I was tanking a group of mobs, then indignantly left group after he was rezzed. He thought he had agro (he didn't) but checking recount afterwards confirmed he died because he was standing in an acid puddle (there was plenty of space to move to).
Aug 6th 2010 11:16PM How about we look at it from the other point of view. A tank's frustrations include:
1. Enter a dungeon, and the healer immediately says "brb". Seriously, don't start the dungeon if you aren't ready. It's rude to keep 4 other people waiting 2-3 minutes because of your selfishness.
2. Dps that want it to go quickly, so they agro aoe everything, and just leave it to the tank to deal with it. If the dps pulled too much, well that's the tanks fault (apparently).
3. Healers and dps that fail to move in a prompt manner (maybe they are busy talking in gchat) and end up agroing patrols. Keep an eye out on your surroundings, and don't expect the tank to make up for your failures when he is already tanking the next group of mobs.
4. Healers that don't heal you in a timely manner, letting you get down to 30%hp before they do anything, then blame the tank for taking damage. Who knows why the healer can't keep the tank topped up. Perhaps it is because he would prefer to scratch his ass rather than play the game.
I'm not saying that as a tank I have a sense of entitlement. I'm saying that I've met more than my fair share of those suffering dps/healer entitlement.
May 10th 2010 10:11PM Simple chat removed huh?
Blizz - does this mean you've fixed the very frustrating and very inconsistent UI error where upon sometimes logging in the combat and general chat windows appear on top of each other? Every time I see this I have to turn simple chat back on to restore the windows, turn simple chat off again, resize my fonts back to 12pt and then relock my windows.
May 3rd 2010 8:14PM Don't know why Darkrose got voted down. He's right. Obviously the readers of wow.com are so in love with the game that Blizzard can do no wrong.
It has nothing to do with the number of lines of code. Some basic testing of each event prior to it happening would have uncovered these types of issues.
Is it really too much to ask Blizzard to have a few testers simulate characters of different ages and play through the game like a real person would? Considering the millions Blizzard reap from this game its a surprise that these problems occur again and again.
Mar 27th 2010 7:59AM Not impressive. Did this ages ago, with SWIFT flight form, on a HOG. Flying motorcycles FTW!
Mar 21st 2010 9:08AM Don't take it so seriously :) But of course you are both technically correct (the best kind of correct).
Mar 21st 2010 8:52AM Teleport: moonglade anyone? No regents, no mana required.
Mar 21st 2010 8:48AM Presumably the cancellation of swift flight form would be a separate ability. So go ahead and turn into a bird, but good luck turning back :P
