Nov 23rd 2009 2:29PM I just *love* how they have taken the absolutely dullest part of the game (traveling back and forth from city to city and from continent to continent) and made it the central part of a weeklong festival.
Wrath had come so far in its design philosophy of creating pods of quests that could be completed together in an area before moving to the next area. Why oh why did we have to go back to the bad old days of picking up a quest on one continent that has to be completed on another continent just so you can get the followup quest there that takes you right back to where you started? Rinse and repeat several more times until you're screaming about all the wasted time.
All of this for a holiday that's supposed to be about going home and spending time with the family. Well, they got the stress of Thanksgiving right, anyway.
Nov 5th 2009 2:29PM Blizzard "Actively warns and fights against" the gold-buying industry? Really?
We had a guildmember get hacked on a Friday. After taking what he could from the guild bank, the hacker moved the character out to Storm Peaks and turned him into a bot to farm relics of ulduar (ever wonder where stacks of 200 relics on the AH come from?).
We watched this bot (and another in the same area) for the entire weekend. Many attempts were made to get Blizzard to do something to stop this hacker from profiting from our guild mate's stolen account. Their answer? Customer Service will look into it on Monday morning. They only work M-F.
This is a 24/7/365 game. I doubt it was a coincidence that his toon was hacked on a Friday evening after customer service had closed up for the week
Hey Blizzard, you want to do something about hackers and gold sellers? Then DO SOMETHING. The poor human paladin bot is still there today, weeks later, even though, as I said, multiple people opened tickets to inform blizzard about the botted toon.
Oct 1st 2009 2:19PM Ooh, glowing red ears. That must be good, right?
May 30th 2008 7:59PM I do my dailies in a combination of my healing gear and my old dps set (from before 1/3 of plus healing went toward damage).
Basically I sub in anything that ups my spell damage or my pell hit (or better yet, both).
My holy spell damage is now over 1k unbuffed, and most mobs are near death after holy shock/consecrate/judged SoB and I can finish them with the hammer. Demons and undead are even easier.
And I can definitely handle 3-5 mobs by simply focusing on one at a time while I consecrate the others down. Often I can hammer the last two as they've fallen below 20 percent health by the time I get around to them
Switch to concentration aura when I need to heal. Drink up after a few mobs and keep moving. I'm nowhere near as fast as a mage or hunter, but I don't dread grinding nearly as much as holy priests do.
May 14th 2008 4:01PM Anyone who plays a hunter at all knows that growl was totally destroyed in 2.4 (or was it 2.3? It's been so long since my pet could hold aggro, I've forgotten).
My pet is just a large companion now. I never send it into battle except in raids with grow turned off (like that's even necessary. No way a post 2.4 pet is going to pull off the tank.)
But thank you Blizzard for making me re-learn my class. Look at me, I'm a mage now - a mage with a really big mini-pet.
