Only if they decide to not carry them. And I'm pretty sure that many of the big chains like Wal*mart and such don't carry the AO rated games.
And from my layman's point of view after reading the Writ filed by the State of CA, it would be these types of games affected. Not "all" violent games, only the extremely violent ones.
But like I said, that's just my POV.
May 3rd 2010 9:03PM No Alex is right.
The announcement back in September was "believed" and turned out to be "misunderstood" you mean.
Another words, no straight answers. :P
May 3rd 2010 8:57PM I did a post about this over on my blog. Basically? I'm not seeing that this is going to be such a major issue as far as sells.
Most parents will buy the games or give their kids the credit cards anyways. In the end it seems to me to be in lines with the CDA.
Heck, maybe just modify the CDA to account for "Obscene Violence" and leave it at that?
Apr 22nd 2010 2:30PM Hmm. An eerie coincidence Frost? Especially since this was recorded Sunday and talked about all week.. Hmmm.....http://www.brigwyn.com/2010/04/21/thl-podcasts-final-episode-with-special-guest-mike-schramm-and-some-guy-called-ghost-krawler/
Mar 29th 2010 8:48PM Thanks Frost for bringing back memories of what made me want to be a hutner int eh first place!
If there is one thing they should really bring back to the game it's the Class Specific quests.
Not to mention skills test. (Well, then again. A Skills test today is a question, "What's your DPS?" j/k)
Really, thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Mar 1st 2010 8:07PM Good post Kelly! But of course we all know there's no really females on the internet! They're like Female Dwarves. If they do exist, they're a rare and elusive bread to be sure! :P j/k
Having played games for most of my life, I can say that there is a great acceptance in general of Female Gamers. And personally, I've always preferred a female RL over a Male. Kinda like the Air Traffic Controller thing.
Feb 25th 2010 4:49PM Awesome ideas Frost!
I'll admit I was saddened at the prospect of Blizz taking the easy way out and just lumping Ammo into the weapon.
Personally, I'd like to see something like:
Flash Bombs - Chance to "blind" all enemy causing a +3% To mis for 5 seconds.
Of course we'd need
Zorro's Armor Removal Shells - 1% chance to cause target to unequip 1 piece of armor. (Come on.. You have to recognize the hilarity that would become BG's!) :P lol
Jan 19th 2010 1:27PM Kelly,
You've done it again! Awesome job and i so look forward to the greyscale comics. Should be fun! :)
Jan 19th 2010 1:25PM @Tyler
We've been trying to get Kelly to do a WoW Babe Calendar for a while now.
I keep hoping that maybe one will pop up so I can claim it for a birthday present. but alas, no luck yet. *keeps fingers crossed*
Jan 18th 2010 5:22PM "your overall heroic DPS should not be below 2,000 DPS, even IF YOU'RE IN ALL BLUES.'
Solid post Brian!
I can agree to this to a point. If you're in all blues you should definately be pushing the 2k barrier. But then again, there's other dynamics at play also. Things like experience of different members in the group, knowledge of the instance, etc... But yep, all I'd say 1,500 - 2,000 DPS is completely adequate and should be expected. If you're below the 1,500 mark, then you probably need to go back to the drawing board and figure out what you're doing wrong.
As for " I'm going to go ahead and risk the wrath of most of the world and suggest you just keep your pet on defensive for heroic runs." this should just be SOP. Having your pet on defensive will help maintain a more consistent pet DPS. I'll take your back on this gem of advice.
Again, a really solid post. Thanks Brian!
