Ask WoW Insider: How to PuG Heroics {WoW}

Aug 27th 2008 6:31PM As a hunter, establishing a reputation as someone who can chain trap effectively should result in your getting more invites.

If you're not a hunter, understanding what your class brings to the table and being able to do it is critical. If you play your class well, folks will remember and be more inclined to invite you when they see you in LFG.

For some reason there's this idea that you have to have specific types of CC available in order to run heroics. That's garbage. Smart players can overcome a lack of CC. A lot of times those have been the instances that are most fun for me.

Just try and keep a good attitude and have fun when you do get to go. :-)

Preparing for 80 {WoW}

Jun 17th 2008 2:33PM My goal is to get into raiding as quickly as possible, so I'm planning to push to level my holy priest as quickly as possible.
I should be mostly kitted out in T6 by WotLK so I probably won't be replacing gear until the late 70's.

I don't intend to level alts until I'm raiding.

As far as professions, I usually like to max my First Aid before I start working on tailoring. If the crafted sets are anything like BC, I'll push to max tailoring but will leave Jewelcrafting to skillup at a more leisurely pace.

Once the beta comes out I'll be able to plan in greater detail. The only thing I know for certain is that I intend to get to 80 with my priest as quickly as possible so I don't get left behind.

How to convince tanks to PuG {WoW}

May 15th 2008 4:43PM This is an excellent article!

I would certainly be more willing to tank for PuGs if people followed this advice. I whole-heartedly agree with the comments about being polite, not only to the tank you're trying to convince to come help you out, but to your fellow group members. I *really* don't like drama in my groups and when I see bickering I always get nervous as to whether or not the group will break up in the middle of the run. =(

The part about running threat meters is spot-on! I'm always amazed at how many DPSers don't run one and then complain how you can't hold aggro. =/

The only thing I would add, is that if you happen to pull aggro, RUN TO THE TANK! =)

Great job Allison!
