Aug 3rd 2008 7:37PM I cannot see how warlock dots doing too less damage with resilience. I'm playing the typical WLD comp and the longer the games the more does our warlock pulls away in terms of damage done.
Arena against warlock is basically zerg him early or die a horrible death. There is no way to heal against the crazy amount of damage that comes from 3*3 dots. I do play with a warlock so any buffs a warlock gets is welcome. However a warlock SHOULD NOT be able to kite melees like a mage when his main dmg is ticking and ticking and ticking. With better CC, better dmg(not bust), no mana-need, and the ability to keep healers out of combat for 99% of the time unless the pet is killed, a warlock shouldnt be able to kite a fucking melee.
In addition the new changes to destruction(stuns n dazes) plus the change of Curse of Exhaustion(30yrd + 50% base) and the Demonic Circle should be enough selfdefense for the warlock.
Jul 31st 2008 6:15PM I dont want to sound like the jealous warrior cutting himself in a dark corner.
But with the removal of crushing blows on the horizon dark memories come back :(. Back in the day when BC was fresh we did stuff like Maulgar and Kazzak and both HAD to be tanked by a druid because they had the edge due to their enormous scaling(and aggro gen.) which warriors could not compete with at that times. It took quite some time and spell damage heavy bosses to bring warriors back to their pre BC spot.
With some additional fixes to protection being the only maintank is NOT the right thing and i'm glad blizzard tries to balance all 4 tanks as much as possible.
But the sheer amount of stats and armor is just one huge advantage over paladin / warrior tanks that i'm a bit afraid losing my initial tankspot in both random and private groups[healer: "Well, the druid might take more damage but he's easier to heal, could you please step down and let him tank it, Mr. Warriortank, thanks"] until gears makes us equal to druids again.
Another point is the niches blizzard is trying to choose for the different tanks, i hate the style blizzard is choosing for us. I despise the idea of an avoidance tank and i did always prefer the mitigating and surviving tank rather than the monkey-donkey.
Yeah, warriors didnt have much choice between avoidance and mitigation back at 60 but i tried as much as possible. I didn't like the idea of a mitigation vs avoidance tank when BC hit and i will certainly dislike the idea of an even extremer mitigation vs avoidance tank with WOTLK.
Jul 17th 2008 6:44PM Although it was typical case of blizzard's design department (the left hand doesnt know what the right hand does and vice versa) i'm impressed by the way the alpha forums are being informed, freely without much politican bla
Meh i want access to it
Jul 12th 2008 7:11PM Hi, as a warrior i'm always biased towards mages our so called counterclass. I too think mages needs their pve side improved alot its not okay to be weaker than warlocks in both single and multi target dps.
However on the PVP side i think mages are pretty fine, they need(and will get) some dispel protection, what they should not get is an increase in both dps and survivability as that can throw off balance pretty easily. Does that mean mages shouldnt get new funny stuff to play(and excel skillwise) with? No, not at all they should get whatever possible to improve their experience.
Another point i can't believe mages(and other closses) are sayin dev's love warriors, we have remained unchanged for a few years now, we didnt get ANYTHING remotely new/fun at Burning Crusade(okay i forgot spell reflect which was pretty bad at BC release and s1), did this put us at a disadvantage? Hell no, a skill we got 7 years ago saved our day (MS) but my actionbars look exactly the same like they did when doin some WSG premades for high ranks. To summarize this i think warriors are at a very balanced state besides rng-spec ehhh mace it's the classes backing the warriors that are overpowered, mainly Druids and Rogues.
(PVE Dps needs to be improved tho :P)
Jul 8th 2008 3:51PM Sorry to disagree with you but most women are either stupid scrubs wiping us in raids, getting their face stomped in arena OR are average-skilled gamers who try to get any advantage they can by granting their guildleader some artifical lapdance.
Jun 28th 2008 10:08AM The Raid Totem is a very nice addition both in decreasing the need of shaman(there a way too many shaman slots in normal raid groups) AND increasing the worth of classes dependent on shaman buffs(windfury comes to mind).
Jun 7th 2008 11:08AM Yes i'm more excited for WOTLK than BC, because the latter was just a bunch of failures after all. The horrible raidsituation at release, the welfare pvp epics, almost one fucking year without serious content upgrades(wtf?). And since Season 3 the unbalanced arena. I suppose WOTLK is blizzards last chance to keep the hardcore(read: not the casuals for whom the game really has improved) to play this game. However, if they fail the game is probably doomed without the pro's i forsee the motivation for the casuals to be lost.
May 17th 2008 12:17AM First of all i really hope blizzard is going to change the warrior dramatically, because after all this time this class is the only one that really feels the same like it did in vanilla wow and even in beta, in regards to pvp ofc and to a lesser extent pve.
Im spamming exactly the same skills as i did with my Arcanite Reaper. Blizzard gave me a little movement and a half-assed spell protection skill(Btw does any1 know why Spell Reflect has this kind of hidden lag while the priests Power word: shield is instant?).
I think its time for the next evolutionary step, warriors gaming needs to be changed(doesnt have to mean buffed) this class needs more skill involved, more action, more (NEW!) buttons :). Yes, this includes 1on1 viability.
By the way, i dont know if i'm the only one but i got a huge problem with the direction the Protwarrior is heading towards. General vs specialized means a min/maxing guild, or a more or less clueless Worldboss will not use a warrior but the tank that gets the specific job better done. What's more important for some important kills? A warrior, that could tank the caster trash following the current boss better and the caster boss thereafter or the Druidtank who might not be the best tank for the caster trash / bosses but gives you one helluva advantage at the boss you are currently stuck on due to his higher EH (or even avoidance, although blizzard has stated that this is the warrior tanks area in wotlk)
