Breakfast Topic: Missed that one {WoW}

Aug 7th 2008 8:42AM I don't thin many players on the ally side will have bothered to do the Razorfen instances. Those always seem to have passed me by whenever I've lvled up.

Wrath Money Sink Found: Dalaran teleport rings for 8000 gold {WoW}

Jul 29th 2008 6:19AM An extra HS for 8000g??...hmm not sure thats worth it. I assume there will a version of portals from Dalaran to the main cities (and shattrath?) anyway. (and there must be an inn in Dalaran surely)

With careful planning, i've nether really had to worry about HS being on cooldowns and being stuck....The only time my char is in Azoth is to do Kara/Zul Aman (in which case I don't worry about HS as I'm there for more than an hour), or on Isle QD, in which case theres the quest which gives you that teleport back...

Bornakk says more about two specs per character in Wrath {WoW}

Jul 29th 2008 3:47AM 'The only problem I've heard of for having two specs is changing in the middle of a raid. I don't know why that's such a big deal, but I don't raid. So, if it actually is a big deal to switch in the middle of a raid, there has to be a way to prevent that'

Well to be honest, I dont see why that should be an issue. Take Kara for instance, where on various bosses you need either 2,1 or no tanks (none being for Aran of course). If your learning those encounters then it lets your 10man team be more flexible allowing you to bring in healers or DPS as and when needed without having to drop people. Which has to be a good thing...

Obviously you wouldn't want to midfight of course. Now that would be silly....

Bornakk says more about two specs per character in Wrath {WoW}

Jul 29th 2008 3:39AM It would also be great for lvling. As a holy priest I'm torn between shadow for solo lvling, but also holy for instances and endgame (my bread and butter)... That was I can switch roles easily as required making my job a lot easier. DPS classes don't have this problem, as group and instance DPS can be done with one spec...

then when lvl 80, I can have a PvE and a PvP spec....and I bet that tanks will feel the same as well about the need for that. Again DPS have it fairly easy in that one spec will work for both (although granted some are better than others), but you can get away with it.

Badges unbound {WoW}

Jul 23rd 2008 6:03AM 'Having certain items Bind on Account would be nice, as long as it's just stuff where there's no competition (BoJ, Quest rewards, PVP tokens, maybe even crafted items), but I can't see anything but chaos coming from BoA items dropping in instances. Everyone would want everything'

There would be a simple way around this, which would be to add an extra roll function. Have a 'roll for self' 'roll for account' and greed roll. The roll for self would get priority, and would make the item soulbound.

I would assume even 'BOA' items are still 'BOE' so wouldn't be passed around alts as needed....

The amount of stuff which drops which just gets sharded is very large now in our Kara runs (probably a sign we should push on), but I'd love to be able to give some items to my rogue which will never probably get a look in as I'm playing healer on my priest.

Professional benefits in Wrath {WoW}

Jul 21st 2008 5:34AM I'll see what the final status is before deciding. I have a priest with maxxed tailoring/herbalism, and am lvling up a pally with alc/herb....

I was intending to drop herb on my priest main, and take up inscription, but if the passive buff is good enough, then I'll be tempted to kee herbalism on my priest and take something else up for my pally...

All depends what inscription can do, and whatever BOP items there are for that.

Death Knight starting cinematic unveiled {WoW}

Jul 18th 2008 10:48AM 'Alliance and Horde DK share the same starting zone then?'

which would actually make sense. If when you start you're still 'controlled' by the lich king, then you arn't really horde or ally at that point. It would only be when you get your free-will back that you would care about your faction. Of course I bet you still won't be able to communicate with them though.

Death Knights get new starting zone, Runeforging skill {WoW}

Jul 18th 2008 10:40AM 'Indeed, you start out working for the Lich King. Let me just say the quest line feel incredibly epic, personal and exciting compared to anything WoW has given us before'

Possibly learning something from LOTRO there.

Fighting off the WoW doldrums {WoW}

Jul 13th 2008 10:10AM I think my entire guild is suffering from this at the moment, a combination of the summer, completing most of the game which we can (ie completing kara) and just feeling generally burnt out...Our main tank seems to be on the verge of quitting every week...and myself as main preist healer is basically now fully epicced.

So i've started a few alts, a pally tank and a rogue. I'm just taking a step back, and preparing for WOTLK now..

The inevitable loss {WoW}

Jul 10th 2008 3:20AM 'Frankly I find this fascinating. What is it that drives people to lose like this? Are they just completely clueless? Or do they just not care?'

The simple reason is that people don't want to put themselves out. Most are DPS classes and its all about the Pew-Pew, so they need to be where the action is rather than winning (and keeping!!) nodes. I'm a holy priest and often in bad PuG BG's I'm one of the only ones on defence, and you know what? It's the only node we've held in the entire game.

The same for people just giving orders at the beginning of the match. No one wants to do it, so I often do, although I'm not even a pvPer and don't have a macro for it...
