Oct 22nd 2010 2:43PM Hope that means a Steam release.
May 25th 2010 6:19PM I see no point in flasking until after the first wipe (or before a boss that you know is hard). If you always clear the first wing, one shotting each boss... why waste 20g? But if you're struggling on Festergut or Putricide, of course you would flask before him.
A flask is a 1% to 3% buff... if that 2% extra isn't needed, it's just a waste. Maybe you save 20 seconds of DPS time across 4 bosses; spending time trading or selling flasks takes a lot longer.
Bringing your A game to a raid is more a state of mind (be alert, prepared, and listen) than a state of buffs. People focus on the buffs because they can measure it, see it in game. But I would be a LOT more upset with players who come distracted or tired than I would with a player who didn't flask up.
May 11th 2010 6:46PM Fun times. Distilled wisdom of the ages. Or just funny... either way, it looks like an upgrade to me.
Mar 16th 2010 7:40PM THE 'Tim Sweeney', of Epic?
Mar 16th 2010 7:38PM I've modified snatch so that I specify a desired 'quantity owned'. As I get more of a particular resource, snatch gets more and more picky (it lowers the offering price) on the item. As my stock dwindle, it raises the offer. This means two things: A) I don't care of the market changes. Snatch will automatically adjust itself. B) I can always hit 'purchase all'. C) I don't have to worry about setting an appropriate price myself.
Mar 11th 2010 8:32PM Many MMOs already have this feature. I know that Star Wars Galaxies had this at launch (and presumably still does) The thing you're missing here in your suggestion is that all bids and all sales would now work about the same way.
Buying: Post a quantity and a maximum price. If there is enough available for sale, you get it right away (at the various prices it was posted). If not, your 'buy order' remains, ready to scoop up any new sell orders below your price limit.
Selling: Post a quantity and a minimum price. If there are enough buy orders available, your stuff gets bought right away (at the various bid offers that were available). If not, your 'sell order' remains, ready to sell to any new buy orders above your price limit.
The AH would not be a giant list of all the orders available. Instead, it would simply list a particular item, and the current 'gap' between the best sell and best buy prices. If you want to sell right away, you need to post a price that's below the current buy... and if you want to buy right away, you need to post a price that's above the current sell.
Or, you can post outside the sweet spot, and hope that the market moves in your direction. You can post things for sale higher than the current best price, and hope that demand rises... or post a purchase order below the current market, and hope that a big farmer drops a ton on the AH.
It would be a major simplification visually, even though it would be more complicated conceptually.
Jan 19th 2010 2:11PM I voted out our healer (I was the tank) a couple days ago. The other DPS were with me. He was a very good healer... nobody died, he was obviously overgeared for heroics. And he was a total jerk. Mocking the DPS of the group (as tank, I was on top of damage, and I'm not well geared), belittling the players...
Not being an ass is just as important as performing your role. We got another healer who was much nicer, and just as competant. The rest of the run was smooth. It wasn't fast, but nobody messed up and the bosses died.
Nov 25th 2009 6:35PM I am a unique snowflake, completely unlike all the other unique snowflakes that want free swag.
Nov 24th 2009 12:45PM I'm not big on vanity pets, but I could give this to my sister for Christmas.
Nov 24th 2009 12:39PM As usual, I kindly request one of your pretty mice to grace my desk.
