Oct 19th 2010 7:29PM "ATI Radeon X1600 or better"
Yours is much better.
Oct 15th 2010 1:43PM I just got a beta key. What should I do first?
Sep 17th 2010 5:44PM Yeah, the SS one struck me as odd. The advantage of using slow weapons is exactly the kind of technical thing they're trying to strip out. Other tooltips leave out much more important pieces of info than that.
Sep 13th 2010 11:20PM The 'power requirements' of the video card don't mean much, the manufacturers are just cover their asses. After all, the PSU powers the whole system, not just the video card. Even the hungriest components above won't use 400w, put them into a power supply calculator if you don't believe me. Or look up some benchmarks.
This is assuming that the PSU actually puts out 400w and doesn't just have that written on it of course, which is another issue.
Sep 13th 2010 11:16PM Sounds like you've some sort of serious problem to me. A C2Q 6600 and 4850 should be more than enough horsepower to run WoW on max. I get better fps than that on medium settings on my laptop with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo and a Mobility 3470. The quality of your hardware isn't your problem I'm afraid.
Sep 13th 2010 11:12PM Not really, it's actually slower than 250 on some games, very little reason to upgrade.

It IS Blizzard's fault if people have no choice but to do that. When I read a book I don't expect to have to google relevant passages to make sense of them. When I got to see a movie I don't expect to have to read the plot summary on wikipedia when I get home to have any idea what I just watched.
I do believe that actually. When I was a new player I didn't know the lore but I watched the introductions because I wanted to learn and get into the story. And I wanted to learn playing the game, not trawling through old "Know Your Lore" posts.
Aug 31st 2010 5:07PM It's not just about roleplaying, it's about just understanding the story, what the hell you're meant to be doing and why. It's very bad design to confuse the hell out of new players and expect them to seek out external resources to work it out.
(on the off chance that you weren't being sarcastic this comment can be happily disregarded)
Aug 31st 2010 1:14PM Is it just me or do these intros sound waaaaaay too complicated for new players? If I got hit by all those names and events just after first logging into the game I'd be confused as hell.
