Nov 17th 2006 2:36PM #20: no, normal animals can not use items like potions and quest items, but we are not normal animals. if we are able to transform our entire body into an animal, why no transform a paw enough to use a potion? or if not, put it simply, gently grab the potion with your mouth and tilt your head back. normal animals can not accomplish many things due to lack of intelligence, with a bit of ingenuity one can accomplish almost anything.
#21: what makes me think these atrocious druid changes are permanent is drysc specifically stating on the forums that allowing druids to use items was a bug (%#$$#@bs)
Nov 17th 2006 11:45AM bloody hell, what does blizzard have against druids? its bad enough to nerf barkskin, lotp, and nurturing instincts, but we NEED consumables and weapon procs. consumables and procs arent decent things that we could use but could do without, they are absolute necessities to bring us closer to being as viable as other classes! why do you think there are so few druids in the first place? we are already one of, if not the, most difficult class to play to its fullest, we cant use anything. instead of being viable for any role when properly geared and specced like the class is meant to be, we make subpar replacements and are forced to be healbots. :'(
Nov 6th 2006 10:32AM @ carpeicthus: damn right they could.
@ sylythn: yes, ninjas are basically covered by rogues, but no, monks are not just unarmed warriors. monks restrict themselves to cloth (maybe leather, but not usually) as to allow freer movement. a monk class would be pretty cool, a melee class in cloth based on speed and dodge rather than stealth and crit.
@david nelseon: great post .... but battle mage = moonkin ;)
Nov 3rd 2006 1:24PM for druids ...
first, a touch of realism. most animals are inherently faster than humans, and the game should reflect this. bear form will now give a 10% speed boost, cat form 20, cat with feline swiftness 30, and travel still gives 40.
second, these just make sense. druids can now shift between forms without having to go into caster between them and all shifting is free of cost.
third, animal forms should convert stats into more useful ones. bear and cat convert intellect into strength and agility respectively and moonkin converts agility into intellect and strength into spirit. since we can not change gear in battle, we need some way to allow gear to change with us.
lastly, for more healing viability, add a non combat rez with no cooldown. we are great healers, but the res thing sucks. our res can take longer to cast and cost more, but we need it. something else that we dont necessarily need, but would be great, is make the combat res usable as a buff on the living. if the player is dead, it resurrects them then, but if not it gives a soulstone like buff.
honestly, i think they should consider at least some of this. most of this would just be great to have, and none of it would really unbalance anything, but the shifting changes are really needed.
also, in general, i hope they dont take too long to make flying mounts ridable everywhere.
Oct 20th 2006 9:55PM what a load of crap, corpses from any race can become undead, not just human. i, like many rpers, write short histories for my characters, and my undead was a night elf, not a human ... and honestly i think humans are my least favorite race ... dont make me a human, blizz, plleeeeease :'(
Oct 19th 2006 10:56PM why does everybody seem to hate uldaman? it has always been one of my absolute favorite instances. its a fairly unique area with more lore in it than anything before it and makes for a fun challenge.
Oct 19th 2006 10:40PM i have absolutely no problem with children in guilds, i have known people as young as 13 that have been great additions ... my problem is with adults that are overly protective of children, which is exactly what my last guild broke up over. my buddy and i decided to put a new guild together and for some reason let 3 others in as co leaders. we never agreed to keeping guild chat rated g, but they seemed to think so, and it ended up turning into a big argument. my problem is, as you hinted at, children say what they want regardless of a parents wishes. when i was younger i was punished every time i let a curse word slip with a parent around, but everywhere else i did not care. the problem is parents not realising this and/or trying to shield their children from the world. oh well, in the past and thats my two cents worth.
Oct 9th 2006 8:27PM to 20 and 21 ... so what you are saying is you click a button and it heals for you ... then why play the class at all? you are doing nothing, it is your macro. i have a balance speced druid, a feral druid, and an enhancement shaman, and all 3 heal fine.
Oct 9th 2006 4:19PM i applaud the change. i admit i grabbed decursive to make sure i knew when the tank was cursed when fighting alexi barov, but i dont like automating my jobs and welcome the lack of decursive. other than that, all the mods i use are ui and alert mods. hide what i dont want, give more casting bars, tell me how much aggro i have, alert for boss events, etc. no targeting or spellcasting in any mod except decursive. however, it would be nice to have curses appear on the hp plates that appear when you press v ... and the distance at whicch you see those should be extended.
as for friends not being able to come due to lower skill or physical ability, those are issues with game mechanics, not whether you have a mod or not. if you or they do not like or can not play the game, then do not play it.
Oct 7th 2006 9:24AM *yawn* i honestly dont see what the big deal is. its just an undead epic mount. it may be a horse of a different color, but i like green, not blue, so even before the patch where it would have saved me 900g i probably would have passed. part of the price change was probably to reinforce the idea that this is nothing special.
