World of Warcraft no longer legally for sale in Australia {WoW}

Feb 5th 2009 3:20AM Perrin

you may want to understand the basics of how Act comes into existance before getting on your soap box.

Acts which come into power are created by legaslative bodies after extensive consultation with parites who have a large amount of sway within the industry the legaslation is to regulate.

when regulatory legislation is being drafted there is also a call for public imput which al shapes the Act.

Once the Act is drafted it is then sent to our 'elected representatives' to vote on to pass or make amendments, etc.

As for "Regulations can enforce fines and things like removal of product from stores, but they can't force jail time." and this other legaslation your co-worker speaks of is utter crap.

There are many Acts which regulate a wide number of industries with powers for people going to jail.

Breakfast Topic: The world ends in five hours... {WoW}

Jul 10th 2008 10:06PM i would make sure my guild knew what server we were going to play wold of starcraft on, do one last run for the barron's mount, go smash the fel rever, then run about taking SS of where my toons had some amazing times.

After that my pally would head to the cathedral of light to train the up and comming , where as my warlock would be in the slaughted lamb fearing and dotting rats all around the place. he seems to like that.

Breakfast Topic: If you could change one thing {WoW}

Jul 6th 2008 8:58PM yeah. horde on a pvp server. what was i thinking? all my alts are on pvp. but i have just put too much time n on my main. plus who can be bothered levelling/gearing another pally.

Poll: How many 70s do you have? {WoW}

Jun 26th 2008 1:47AM Only have one at the moment human prot pally. Dinged 70 about a week before the 2.3 change so now its a breaze to level most any class.

Got a 65 gnome lock and 54 Belf huntard along with a disenchanting bank alt (rogue).

My pally was the first toon i rolled and it wasn't untill it hit 70 that i started a real alt but its been slow to level as most of my game time is spent raiding.

By the time wotlk i would like to have my lock and hunter at 70 and a tauren shammy i started a few days ago well on his way too.

But my pally will still be my main come wotlk. my hunter and shammy are the first horde toons i've played seriously and are my first time playing on a pvp server.

More calls for midlevel content, the return {WoW}

Jun 2nd 2008 8:54PM I recently ran through the Mudsprocket quest hub again and was glad it was there due to the fact after doing all of STV on my Pally (I play on a pve server) I couldn’t bring myself to complete that those quests again on an alt. The revamp to Dustwallow really did help with getting out to Tanaris quickly so I could get over that annoying 35-45 hump which I’ve always found as a struggle.

It would be nice to see blizzard do something similar to the blasted lands to make the last push before heading to Hellfire a little easier as well. I know there are still zones in the game that I am yet to quest through and would probably assist in keeping the experience fresh, but given that I’m trying to get two alts to 70 before wrath I want to level them in zones I already know.

The heroic mode of old world instances would be a good idea for the ones that people tend not to run anymore. Places like Mara, Strat, Scholo, Dire Maul, BRD, and maybe even LBRS would all see people in the content if there was a heroic mode for each instance given that the large majority of players won’t see these instances while levelling unless they have a specific reason to go in for a important quest. Obviously there would be a ton of work in changing the larger instances (BRD takes hours to run at level) to make it more viable.

I’m sure in 12 months after wrath comes out if will be the same thing with the current high level instances. Do blizzard really think people will take the time to run bot, arc, slabs, etc when it is just a stepping stone to the end game? Why would you bother getting a flying mount at 70 to do the TK instances when you hit 71 you’ll be heading north and not be able to use it for 6 levels not to mention having to pay god knows how much gold to have the privilege to use it again.

Given what the data miners found with the whole “give a level” “give reputation” and the passenger land mounts makes it clear that blizzard are aware of just how hard it will be for someone starting out in the game to reach level 80 without a little help from established players. I’ve got great confidence in blizzard addressing this issue as they have always been forward thinking when dealt with problems like this in the past. Although they don’t really explain their actions, the large portions of changes they have made in the game while I’ve played have been to keep the majority playing.

If you’re a arena player, hardcore raider, altoholic, a casualty or whatever, blizzard are always trying to keep the game fresh and new for all styles of play.

Little off topic I know.

The strong bond between healer and tank {WoW}

May 23rd 2008 12:03AM 100% correct, i just dont have the same relationship with anyone else in my guild as i do with my healer.
it is stuid the amount of trust i feel with her as no matter what kind of scrape we get into i know she will come through and even if i go down. i'll di her without hesitation. If my blessing of protection is on cool down then 99% of the time is because its been on her.

we have been running together for about 5 months now and i just dont trust anyone else healing me.

same with those people who are right up in the mobs face with me. its not that i dont like our ranged dps. i just dont have the same connection with them then i do with those who are right up there about to eat a 12k hit if i go down during a boss fight.
