Forum post of the day: No really, you are not prepared {WoW}

Dec 15th 2008 1:17PM "AOE tanks will often have high DPS. This does not excuse the DPS from their responsibilities."

What responsibility is that? Clearing the instance safely or specifically out-dpsing the tank? DPS classes on principle do not consider trash DPS to be an important gauge of performance. Current AOE tanking will over-represent on damage during pulls where mobs die faster than it takes for proper DPS to unleash their real potential.

If tanks want to dick-size with DPS classes not being able to out-DPS them, those tanking classes will only wind up getting themselves nerfed.

Warlock talent plus Tier 5 set bonus equals 536 million DPS {WoW}

Aug 9th 2008 6:57AM Similar in nature to rolling ignites, which Blizzard broke/took away from mages completely.

You're using softer language than I did when I first saw it.

A Death Knight with pink pigtails {WoW}

Jul 7th 2008 10:24PM That gnome death knight looks pretty badass, to be perfectly honest.

Forum post of the day: Freakin' frogs {WoW}

Jul 2nd 2008 5:04AM In all seriousness though, it's not really a big deal that shaman are getting this.

I think you just see greater mage insecurities airing themselves wherever they feel appropriate.

Forum post of the day: Freakin' frogs {WoW}

Jul 2nd 2008 4:51AM In WOTLK, warlocks will be given a new spell "Fel Brilliance" which increases the intellect of the target equal to Arcane Brilliance. In addition, it will grant the target a 10% bonus to all healing effects cast upon the target.

If cast upon a mage, it will afflict the mage with an "Arcane Taint" debuff which will cause all spells cast by the mage to consume 10% more mana.

Lord Ahune strategy and walkthrough {WoW}

Jun 23rd 2008 12:16AM Really not worth the trouble unless you outgear the fight to the point where the loot is useless to you.

Combat stats and spellpower consolidated on Alpha {WoW}

Jun 13th 2008 10:24PM Sucks for holy priests. Mages and warlocks (and shadow priests) have been vying for the same gear long enough that we're used to it.

But if WOTLK plays out anything like TBC, holy priests will have a small squadron of dps casters with 1000 dkp sitting at the top of the list waiting for their chance to win something, while paladins are so far in the hole from having stuff shoved at them, it isn't funny.

SK-Gaming downs Kil'jaeden for world first {WoW}

May 25th 2008 5:42AM Mages have been unfavored by "bleeding edge" guilds for almost the entirety of the burning crusade at this point. Everything a mage does a warlock can do better. The gripe certainly isn't new or surprising.
