2012 World of Warcraft Arena Pass coming soon {WoW}

Apr 4th 2012 4:17PM I think PvP and PvE should be brought closer together, but neither removing the gearing phase nor offering free gear is the way to do it. Without offering tangible and meaningful rewards the game suffers.

The question we should really be asking one another is, 'aside from gear, what other rewards could PvP offer?' And if that is the case, could the same be done for PvE to keep that interesting without the rampant stat-inflation that plagues every expansion?

2012 World of Warcraft Arena Pass coming soon {WoW}

Apr 4th 2012 4:09PM As long as you don't mind spending the $20 to get going, it is a pretty good way to get started. It definitely removes the gear-farming aspect of PvP. However, I think you will find your performance to be at about the same level as on a standard realm.

Since full Ruthless gear is available on standard realms for honor points and can be quickly farmed, I'd recommend going that route first. Seek out kind experts who will help you develop your game play. Stay open to tips. Queue constantly. Duel often. Don't be afraid to lose a fight.

Best of luck!

2012 World of Warcraft Arena Pass coming soon {WoW}

Apr 4th 2012 4:00PM It is about the same as other arenas in regular WoW play, but this time, you get access to all the same gear as everyone else.

I've had about the same results in the tournament as I do on other realms. There are some teams that are easy to beat, and some that stomp us in seconds. If you don't think you are ready, play and become more proficient and standard arenas first, then pay for the arena pass, or wait till next year.

Bottom line, if you aren't enjoying regular arenas, the tournament doesn't offer anything different, in terms of game play.

Apr 4th 2012 1:09PM For all those who claim that PVP would be balanced 'if only there were no gear discrepencies.'

I'll see you in the arena. I won't be gentle.

Blue Posts: More Ghostcrawler, Rob Pardo plays Titan {WoW}

Mar 28th 2012 7:46PM Rob Pardo was the kid who invited you over to his house the day after Christmas to play with his new Furby, Tickle me Elmo, Cabbage Patch Kid, Tamagotchi, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtle Van, etc- but instead just made you watch while he played with them.

How are the plans for opening the doors to new guest-writers coming along? It has been some time since we heard about the break from the Seed program.

Breakfast Topic: Has your opinion about the pandaren changed? {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 8:07AM I say if people think the Pandaren are too 'cartooney', they need to take a look at the Night Elves.

Can you put MoP beta stuff on a separate page? Some of us haven't received our invites yet. =P

Breakfast Topic: Were you impressed with the Mists of Pandaria press event? {WoW}

Mar 24th 2012 12:14AM I know what the bug was.

Some nice lawyer at Blizzard legal said, "Hey, I'm not entirely sure it's on the up-and-up to send out those beta invites in waves when we already promised they'd get them when it went live." He probably said it while he was bringing meals on wheels meals to hungry people in need.

But then Ghostcrawler stepped in and said, "Put those meals on wheels meals back in the Blizzard breakroom refrigerator NOW. Those beta invites will go out when I say so- annual pass subscriber agreement be damned!" He said this all, of course, with much cackling enthusiasm, as he added another glistening golden gem to his throne of lies.
